Everytime I engage in a conversation about problems in the US such as goverment, social inequality, consumerism, etc... people always have to end it by saying, "well this is the best place in the world." Ok now I ask you, tell me one thing out of the tons of things wrong with my country. Just name one, beacuse I know there is a lot. I want to hear it especially from other o****ries as well, beacuse you have a different perspective and don't live here like I do in the materialistic state of CALIFORNIA of the United States.

What's wrong with America is they think they live in the best place on earth. They've been indoctrinated since birth to turn a blind eye to all the problems, plain and simple.

Stop looking at America as the only place on the earth. I econtuner this argument a lot while debating and I simply respond by saying that, in order for America to get to such a high standard of living they need to exploit someone. Capitalism can not suriviue unless there is someone who is oppressed and exploited. Look at the 3rd world, Americas wealth is created off of the backs of 3rd world workers. Look at the worlds poverty rate, this has been a direct cause of western imperialism and capitalism.

If some one said this to me seriously I would laugh. This is the best place in the world? That sounds extremely stupid and reminds me of first grade when I thought my markers were better than my friend's.

Tell him that there is no best place in the world and if there was it would not be America. How can a country be the best if all of its people aren't even entitled to free healthcare for example? Cuba, the evil communist dictatorship of death even beats them on that one.

Those kind of relative statements mean nothing especially when you consider what countries the US is being compared to. Most people don't compare US civil liberties with those of Europe but rather those in developing nations.

Heres how I would respond to this. First of all Countries that are better than America:
1.Holland
2.Canada
3.Belgium
4.switzerland
5.Finland
6.Australia

Next just start listing off reasons that america sucks in simple, lowest-common-denominator-friendly language:
1. it started out as a good idea but the rights you think you have are long perverted by money
(fuck talking stupid)
your life is one of material excess and waste, your liberty is the liberty to buy with the wages of your slavery, and what you pursuit is a hideous disfigured perception of happiness.
2. You're a fucking jingoistic imperial force in the world
3. you introduced crack and destroyed millions of lives
4.You fight secret wars
5. equal opportunity is a long lost dream.
6. the number of people you incarcerate is ridiculous
7. You can go to jail for smoking cannabis
8. pharmeceutical companies push chemical cocktails crippling the minds of the nation with the help of doctors and TV.
9. pollution
10. defense spending
the list is endless man

Its not the country thats at fault, location is irrelevant
Its the socio-economic system that most of these countries practice, which creates problems for the majority of its population
The reason the US is a favorite target is because its one of the largest countries, and most brazen practitioners of global capitalism and imperialism
If Greece were the size and as brazen as the US in its geopolitical policies, Greece would be the country targetted by the left
The byproducts of capitalism are everywhere, one country's government is just as responsible as another's

I always like it when jingoists say that amerikan workers are "the most productive in the world." This can be interpreted as a joke, because who would accuse the fattest, dumbest, most ignorant populace of being industrious??? The other way to look at it, is that amerikans are paid shit compared to other OECD countries. So combine the capital intensive "industry" in the us plus the pidily benifits and declining real wages, and the marginalized labor movement, than amerikans are the most productive...in the most vulgar, capitalist sense of the word.
