It's interesting to see how all social problems can be traced down to one root. Racism, sexism and capitalism are problems caused by hatred, greed, selfishness, fear, etc.

The common root is its primitive thinking. Much of the world's cultures are based on old concepts and ideas. Our culture teach us morals and values, how to think and behave. The miseducation that keeps us in our boxes are maintained by a system built by primitive thinking.

The human brain consists of roughly three separate parts.

Our simplest brain is the reptilian one. It controls body functions required for sustaining life such as breathing and body temperature, behaviour relating to survival of the species such as sexual behaviour.

The mammalian brain evolved from the reptilian brain and is more consciously aware of itself in relation to the environment. The behaviour is less rigidly controlled by instincts, and feelings such as attachment, anger and fear have emerged with associated behavioural response patterns of care, fight or flight.

The third one is called the Cortex. This brain is the newest and biggest. The structure of the cortex is extremely complicated. It is here that most of the high-level functions associated to the mind are implemented.

Humans have the most developed brains. Now biological factors may be the basis for our existence, but our environment shapes us to the people we become. The culture is very important in shaping us. It forms us to the people we become.

People are not born evil, nor are they born good. We are human and part of the animal world. Humans evolved from monkey to man, and are constantly evolving (for the better, I believe). The animalistic instincts and emotions that we still possess it what gave birth to a lot of the wickedness we see today: greed, hate and other lower emotions.

This Western culture and system teach us self-destruction. We are brainwashed with the ethics of this society from birth, and it's really hard breaking out of these chains. This world is evil because we haven't occupied ourselves with higher form of thinking.

Positivity and negativity are like spirials of good or bad energy. If someone smiles at you, you smile back. If someone hits you, you hit back. Now if people were taught knowledge of themselves, it would be much easier to understand other people. Just observe people around you, and you'll notice many interesting things on how universal laws work.

The evil has tried to divide people in all possible ways. Think about your life. What's the point of it all? And one day you die. I think the secret is we shouldn't live for ourselves, but for humanity. You are just one drop in the sea, and you'll eventually die. Individuals die, but you are a part of a much bigger system.

If people were able to see themselves in other people, then these problems would come to an end. In the Western culture material things are suppost to be substitute for love. We are taught strangers are evil, etc. Which often is true, in this society. People feel no unity, and are prepared to step over dead bodies for their wants. There's so much prejudice, and people seem to fail to realize it's the culture that's evil and not the people. If you have been taught something, you can un-learn those things and be retaught. So there is hope.

It is important to seperate a system and a mindstate from people. Don't hate ignorant people. They are all victims, even those who think this system satisfy their needs. Fight ignorance and hatred with love. Like Dr Martin Luther King Jr said, you can not drive out hate with hate, only love can do that. You must be the light that will make the truth visible in the dark. Blind people aren't evil, they just can't find the right path on their own. Be their guide. Together we are strong. Create heaven on earth.

This is not an unrealistic goal. People just have to become conscious of these things, and take action. Learn to live after principals instead of laws. Hurting one another is hurting humanity, which is hurting yourself. Now why would you do that?

ONE!

I agree mostly with the sentiments of what you are saying, but I have a problem with the religious baggage attached.

It's interesting to see how all social problems can be traced down to one root. Racism, sexism, capitalism, hatred, greed, selfishness, fornication, etc, are all part of the global negative energy.
Don't diss fornication, man!

People are not born evil, nor are they born good. We are human and part of the animal world. Our brain has tree layers - the reptilian, the mammalian and the cortex.
Explain?

I'm not religious... But I do believe in the 'good spirit' which exist in all people, more or less. But we can learn a different behavior, we have capacity to do.

Family, institutions, culture, is what shapes us. They teach us how to act, what is right, what is wrong, morals, values, the whole package. For more info on our brain and the 3 layers please check out this link: http://www.solbaram.org/articles/humind.html

And I edited my initial post because fornication isn't the root of the problem. It's just a branch ;-)

I find your take on utopia very interesting.

I have a six year old daughter. Do you think I share your opinions on not fearing strangers?

People in the civilized world do not step over dead bodies to get what they want. Even though there have been widely publiczed cases of onlookers not preventing horrible crimes, these exceptions prove the rule that people do really care.

What matters is that we all live in this world, a real world with real dangers and real people who would just as soon see you/me really dead.

I guess I come from the realistic school where I assume people are good, but having lived in both NYC and Miami I never let them get anywhere near me until I am certain they are OK.

Thanks for your reply, I'm glad you made these points...

Cuz I know all people don't want my best. I don't trust all strangers. What I meant is... Even those who do me wrong, I don't hate them. They don't know better. This change that I'm talking about, won't just happen over a night. Of course. I think I am being realistic. I'm aware I won't see this change in my lifetime. But the more people engaging in the struggle, the sooner we get there.

One Love,

Not as the situation is today. But eventually I hope people will be educated about these things. They will learn to act morally instead of by laws. Once again, when people realize the truth about human relationships "Hurting one another is hurting humanity, which is hurting yourself. Now why would you do that?"

Mazdak, you should read X's autobiography. There he explains his "racist" rationale. Besides, his racism was spawned from the opression of the white man. I think lardlad will agree w/ me that the blacks of America were perfectly justified to hate the white man just as much as he hated them. And, after all, Mecca changed his entire outlook on life, at which point he abandoned his racist ideals. The black muslims are a fanatically racist group. No other religion believes that his race is god and the opposing race is the devil. Malcolm disbanded from the organization when he saw the light.
