I put a thread on this yesterday which seems to have disappeared, so I am just asking again what are the best books/articles on Lenin, from a left wing perspective. I would apreciate links if any can be found online. So far any biography I have read about him has been written by bourgeois historians, and as such I feel it is impossible to get a full picture of his life and .

There is nothing hidden or secret about Lenin. I would recommend reading his own works throughout his life to better understand him.

Lenin Internet archive (http://www.marxists.org/archive/lenin/index.htm) has some biographic collection about him. Check them out.

All his biographies unfortunately have some POV. It is difficult to find a neutral one for a revolutionary personality like Lenin.

Any way Tony Cliff's 2 volume biography is the one I enjoyed reading.

Lenin - Volume One - Building the party. (http://www.marxists.org/archive/cliff/works/1975/lenin1/index.htm)

Lenin - Volume 2 - All power to the Soviets. (http://www.marxists.org/archive/cliff/works/1976/lenin2/index.htm)
