I've been reading up on Situationism, and it seems interesting. Perhaps because of the nature of their work I have had trouble getting a straight answer regarding their goals, their methods, and the rest. From what I can gather it's surrealist influenced Marxism (or vice-versa?) that held some sway in May '68. But I do wish to be given anything relevant that could point me in the right direction, if possible.

No no, there was a series of posts in this thread. One was correcting RadioFreeJuan about how there is no situationism and that this was the reason for why the Situationists disbanded.

It's not that they were deleted, it's more like the server got rolled back or something.

Anywyas thanks for the links, Janus.

Any deletions done by a mod are automatically reported in the mod log so you should check that if you feel that it's happened to you.

So I missed something?
Looks like it.

Here's what you missed.

Situationism: a meaningless term improperly derived from situationist. There is no such thing as situationism, which would mean a doctrine of interpretation of existing facts. The notion of situationism is obviously devised by anti-situationists.

It's "properly" referred to as situationist theory, but don't worry about that too much.

Here's a decent intro to situationist theory and a brief history of the situationists.

Also, if you get confused by all the situationist jargon, there's a pocketbook series called Spectacular Times by Larry Law. It used to be available online on a website, but that website seems to have gone offline. You may be able to find a few various books of the series scattered about the internets.
