At school we saw a video of Stalin.
There was this huge parade, with Stalin's pictures all over, people claping their hands and shouting out Stalin's name.

Then there was this kid. She didn't clap. Stalin took her hands, smiling softly, and made them clap. As the legend goes, that night there was a knock on that family's door, and the parents were killed.

I was just thinking, that did/does this happen with Fidel? And was Che like that? "If you don't follow us, I'll shoot your brain out!"

I heard a rumor that it would be like that... :(

I hope it isn't like that with Fidel.

Che certainly was not like this. He despised Stalin. I don't know about Fidel.

Of course, according to some nitwits on this board (Thine Stalin, Lenin, RedSovietCCCP), this is "the only way communism is supposed to work". Fuck that.

The Stainists don't wan't a state wherer people die for not clapping hands, but thats beside the point. Castro is not like Stalin whatsoever he's a very good leader.

Gacky, again, with his painfully ignorant and naive idea of what Stalinism is...

Read Alexander Solschenitsyn! That's all I can say about Stalin!

Stalin was certainly not a good man, but he was smart. Who aside from a complete lunatic would execute someone for doing that. This smells to me as mccarthyst bullshit to me.

hmmm, i don't know for sure. But in my opinion this kind of thing was good for him. Similar to the gestapo in nazi germany - it installed fear into the people.

This event would have told them, that if they did something as small as not clap for stalin - you would pay with your life. I can imagine this would have the disered affect on the people (ie, next time, They WOULD clap!).

Like i said this was how the gestapo worked. Installed fear into the people, it kept them "in-line". If you follow what i'm trying to say.

Che wouldn't have done this. Fidel wouldn't do this, to such an extreme, but i imagine action would be taken.

I still disagree that this happened. I wouldn't be surprised if he told officials to visit the family and warn them, perhaps secretly watch them for a few weeks. This killing was obviously secret, considering it is a rumor, and an open killing for not clapping would bring a greater opposition against you, which would do worse for you and outweigh the fear. If the killing was secret, than it could not have been used as a fear tactic. This just does not add up and I refuse to believe it. It was likely something very little as I suggested the warning, but blown out of proportion by the anticommunist propagandists.

I really doubt that Stalin did that. 99% of legends aren't true. Stalin wouldn't have wasted his time. I don't really like stlain, and I'm sure he was mentally unstable and paranoid. Fidel probably wouldn't kill people for not having their children clap, and Che would never do such a thing.
