How would leftist describe cheap/ignorant comments from the right and even from proletariat who lacks class consciousness?
for example
"Mexicans come here illegally because their countries are so poor"
"Most people in the ghetto commit crimes because they are black"
and this one that really pissed me off...
you're coming at this from the complete negative side and not realizing that some people might be happy flipping burgers because money for them either represents the freedom to do something on their own or it represents a way for them to support their family... <_<

"Mexicans come here illegally because their countries are so poor"
This is just a statement; a leftist would say the reason why the country is poor is that it has to do with capitalism. Capitalism needs both new markets and cheap labor, so they try their best to keep Mexico's labor market cheap. (this involves agreessively attacking unions, etc)
"Most people in the ghetto commit crimes because they are black"
Whoever says this is rascist becuase they are using the logic that its natural for a black person to be in a ghetto and commit crimes. Realize that most crimes are economical in nature, so most likely the people living in ghettos are so poor (and their jobs don't provide enough) so they start working for the black market.
This argument reminds me that "Oh, they are poor (on poor people) because they choose to be that why because of all the oppurtunities available, etc" argument.

Ask them if they would be happy flipping burgers and later ask them how many people they know would be happy flipping burgers. This argument seems to be a cheap shot assumption. Especially if you talk about burger flipping places, which I heard is usually the worst workplace by some members of this board and even my history teacher (however, if we were talking about waiters, I heard some members of the board like that job sometimes.). Another thing, why does money=freedom? If they were living in the US, tell them that such an assumption would show the hypocrisy of the idea that people are equal, since people with more money have more freedom than poor people; at least, according to the assumption that money represents freedom (and they might be right, in bourgeosie republics money represents more rights, freedoms, etc, at least you mention something like that in a previous thread.)

"Most people in the ghetto commit crimes because they are black"
No, most people in the ghetto commit crimes because their socio-economic position demands that they do in order to stay alive or at least live a somewhat reasonable life. Regardless of a person's skin color, if they are in extreme poverty and have no food for themselves or their family, chances are they may turn to crime as the only way out. It just so happens that the majority of people in the ghettos in America are black...and that's not an accident.

so there's no word to describe all this kind of comments. made by people who are just being judgmental?

I suppose the most suited term to describe these kinds of statements would be ignorant.

The problem with these type descriptions is that they ignore the fact that comments such as this creates a racially divided proletariat. This leads to racial segragation by exploitation of cheap labour and this inevitably will lead to intra-class conflict such as social identificaion problems between the two groups of people, would it not?
