I recently bought the book 'Anarchism, a very short introduction' hoping to find a book that could introduce Social-Anarchism to someone new to it in a good way, I was'nt too impressed. It focused a lot on secularism, education, eco-Anarchism, not so much on the collectivist leanings and the such, it pretty much stuck with 3 Anarchism philosophers, even though there have been many more, it does a decent job, but I'm looking for something better.

I want something that is short, easy to understand, not too philosophical or theoretical, not something propegandaish, something up to date and modern, pretty much something that would appeal to your average non-political joe, but also something that introduces basic Social-Anarchist ideas in a coherent way and about actions such as Anarcho-Syndicalist movements and the such.

Any suggestions?

Well, you'll find that a lot of Libertarian-communist theory, from Counsil communism to Anarchism is explored, quite well through various articles on Libcom.org

But I know reading stuff off of the screen is sometimes a bit straining. If you want a hard-copy (or something to distribute) the Anarchist Federation have a decent range of pamphlets that cover the basics. You can view most of them in a thread I made here (http://www.revleft.com/index.php?showtopic=49100) or visit our site (www.afed.org.uk)

The two I recommend you purchase, are "Anarchism - As we see it" and "The manifesto of libertarian communism" if you do want 'em it's a total that's £1.60, plus p&p, so, hardly going to break the bank! im sure if you ask nicely we can throw in a copy of our free monthly newsletter ;)

I think the first one is probably more what you're looking for, but I do recommend both. If you want them posted to you, you can just send the cash/postal order to with a list of the things you want, and your address. Or e-mail us first asking if we have any in stock, and give us your address that way.

Hope this helps.
