I was watching the 1964 version of The Time Machine today and was joking with my mom about it... but I actually did come to an interesting theory/weird idea- for those of you who have read The Time Machine or seen the movie, you're familiar with the Eloi and the Morlocks and the talking rings, etc. My theory/weird idea included the fact that the Eloi are the proletariat of the future, and the Morlocks are the bourgeois. It's a metaphor for the exploitation of the proletariat by the bourgeois to the endth degree- cannibalism. However, the biggest difference is that the "proletariat" doesn't do any work at all- they just take what the "bourgeois" give them and go with it willingly. Any thoughts on my randomosity?

H.G.Wells was a socialist.
The Eloi are the bourgeois who have lived an eternity of the easy life while below the Morlocks, proleteriat, have been slaving for their masters.

Doesn't every introduction to The Time Machine state this? I think mine does.
