Lenin II

Ok, Ive had a revelation recently, the same one that led me to this site. I used to be a hardcore Democrat. Then I switched to supporting the Green Party. Then I learned about Peak Oil. I learned that my intent of living the American dream was futile. I learned that the man I hated with all my soul, the President of the U.S., may be smarter than I thought for getting us Afghanistan and Iraq before anyone else and attempting to buy us some time. I learned that my idyllic American existence is going to be a thing of the past in a few short years. I learned that war is going to be a constant in every one of our lives from now on. The only way to avert all of this is for all of us to work together. Unfortunately most of us are too wrapped up in getting high, paid and laid.
All of these facts hit me at once. I now realize how much I dislike the concept of capitalism. Communism is designed to end the inequality, exploitation, and oppression that is inherent in the capitalism system, not mention the warfare.
Capitalism NEEDS war. It needs it to expand territories, open new free markets, steal cheap raw materials, suppress opposition at home, pacify rebellious populations abroad, boost nationalism, allow for stronger government control, make profits for armament corporations
They use their propaganda to incite fear. It is in their interest to keep war hysteria in continuous surge, as it leads to belligerent nationalism and witch hunts for those less patriotic. It lends power to the leaders to take away whatever they want in the name of victory, and those that disapprove are labeled as traitors. Acts such as raping, looting, the slaughter of children and families, the reduction of whole races and populations to slavery and poverty and the punishment of political prisoners by torture are looked upon as atrocities when committed by the designated enemy but as virtuous and patriotic when committed by their own.
In the suburbs of capitalist society war means nothing more than statistics and news reports, the occasional speech. No high-minded principle or objective has ever been involved. The idea that we liberated Iraq from its dictator for human rights reasons is insulting. The United States has long supported brutal tyrants around the world, from Latin America to Haiti to Israel and even Cambodias Khmer Rouge.
Capitalism is a predatory social system. The capitalist class and its political parties couldnt care less if the government of Iraq (or any other country) is democratic or fascist so long as its government will deal with us.
If I see another one of those goddamn stupid-ass Support Our Troops ribbons around I am going to blow a gasket and bash a conservative in the head with a fire extinguisher. I never say the pledge of allegiance since Bush sent the troops to Iraq. I dont feel a bit of love or loyalty for bourgeois oppressors. I really hope the U.S. isnt foolish enough to attack Iran. I dont think even Bush is that stupid. I am prepared for the worst, though.
So, Im going to sum this post up for you readers who arent patient enough to read the whole thing: I no longer believe in the Democratic or Green Party. If Bush can reign for eight years, I do not believe in it. If he can kill 655,000 innocents in the name of money and not be tried as a war criminal, I do not believe in democracy. America no longer exists. It is dead to me.
Freedom. Forever.
Long live the left.
