I was talking to a girl-friend of mine yesterday about socialism and capitalism and she brought up a good point that I would like to get some info on.

its not secret that capitalism looks for cheap labor all over the world. HOWEVER what do you make of this..

various hotel chains and lavish golf courses hire people from South Africa, Romania, Turkey and other eastern european countries to come to the U.S. for a few months work at the Hotel or the Resort whatever. and then they have the option to transfer to an other location or just to go back home... what's the catch??

Whats the catch for who? I think in general hotels that do that are trying to give off a "cosmopolitan" vibe to their customers, make them feel as if they're in some truly international resort or something. I don't really think it has to do with particularly searching out cheap labor (although I doubt they get paid terribly well).

well i was wondering if this was an imperialist/cappie trick to get more cheap labour, legally at home. hmm. but good point.

It's not to find cheaper labor but to find more labor sources during busy times such as during tourism season.
