Marxism: scientific communism, taking previous ideas of communism and then studying how it will come about fastest, understanding the laws of capitalism.

Leninism: Marxism in the era of monopoly capitalism
(not free market competition)--imperialism, the
decaying and parasitic final stage of capitalism.

Trotskyism: Opposing Stalin's "socialism in one country"
Comment: Centering hopes on Germany to make
the whole world go communist; less hope in peasants;
Comment2: Followers criticize from the point of view
of ideals, not historical practices, because there
were no more Trotskyist revolutions outside of Trotsky's assist in 1917.

Stalinism: Usually referred to as "Marxism-Leninism."
"Socialism in one country"--but revolutions in many countries in practice.

Maoism: Upholding Stalin on importance of national liberation and "socialism in one country." Developed
People's War. Theorized about the "bourgeoisie
in the party" to explain capitalist restorations.
