I'm sure we've all encountered lots of cappies who have questions of foolish sort.
However, I've often been confronted with the question of "what would a communist society look like?"
If we have free cooperation of individuals enjoying the full fruits of their labor, what exactly does this entail and how do the produced goods get distributed in an egalitarian fashion? Does it all depend on the material conditions of the society or what...?

what i don't understand is "the abolition of property"...does this mean that i won't "own" my house?

oh no not at all. If you look in the manifesto Marx says takes that challenge head on. the reference to the abolition of private property refers to the means of production. There's no need to abolish the property of an individual man "the capitalist system to a great extent is doing that already". The means of production won't be held in private hands anymore as they will be held in common.

i see, so when he is refering to propery, he is refering to the ownership of materials that are used to create evrything?

ya there are plenty of threads about it so i'm not really not trying to be rude but can you research it so i can have the focus kept on the original topic of the thread?

sorry abot that digger...anyways, i believe your question is pretty well documented as well, maybe you should have done some research...
but i will try to contribute....distribution? I don't think this is done in communism...Marx understood that no, we are not all equal in that sense, obviously some would like more of one product than the other, so it would not be true to Marx's goal to distribute everything in an egalitarian way, in fact no distribution at all, who would have the power to decide this distribution in the first place?
Who ever harvests oranges just sends it to the market and it is obtained at will by the people, not "distributed" equally by the market to the people.

lol dude i wasn't trying to attack you. I've been doing a lot of research and i can't find a satisfying answer that's why i ask. you're answer seems very sound though so if you could point me into the direction of an article or something i'd really appreciate it.

lol i wasn't attacking you either, my bad if it came out that way...anyways, no i don't know man, as you can see im fairly new here, so im not familiar with the searching thing....if you can't find it you did the right thing asking no big deal...
the distribution question you asked , also raises other questions like, the difference in products issue. For example, caviar is a delicacy, most people don't buy it because it is very expensive, since in communism it would be free, the ability for people to obtain it would be fairly the same as in capitalism, more of a survival of the fittest type of way though under communism lol you get what i mean?
Some things i don't understand, like if you can have everything you wanted, it is kind of contradictory and stupid, i mean nobody would want a Ferrari, because everyone can get one.
Maybe someone who has more knowledge of communism can explain.

There's a difference between private and personal property. No one's going to expect you to share your toothbrush.
However, I've often been confronted with the question of "what would a communist society look like?"
No one really has any specific details but the general framework should be a stateless egalitarian society with socialised distribution.
