Over 1,5 thousand of people took part in rally and march in Warsaw under the name: 'Women's Solidarity March' which wanted express protest against sharpening antiabortion laws in Poland. Now the abortion in Poland can be done only if:
1. The pregnancy is an effect of rape,
2. The pregnacy can be danger to women health
3. The child will be born dead
The nationalist party Polish Families League as it is losing it's support want to take back their support from proclerical and nationalist voters. PFL wants to change Constitution that will guarantee that abortion will be banned at all.
The demonstrators from Association of Women 8 march, Federation of Family Planning and variety of left organisations which the greatest number came from Polish Labour Party. The demonstration was also backed by union activists from Free Trade Union 'August80'.
The protestors where shouting: 'My body. My choice', 'Hands of constitution'.
In the front of parlament protest met counterdemonstrators from nationalist gruping Allpolish Youth, which is conected to the League of Polish Families. The group contained around of 50 (info of police) to 100 (of organisators) of bald guy's around 20 with their teenage girlfriend.
Nationalist shouted: 'Great Poland Stays Catholic', 'Fagots and Left side go to hell' 'Allpolish are for life'. Like always they carry photos of dead kids and as an innovation this time they get plastic models of human embryo's in natural size.

Bardzo dobry!
nice report comrade. I despair over what's happening in Poland in the government. They've gotta have one of the most right wing, religious governments in the whole of europe, pretty scary. :(
good on those who marched though! :hammer:
you say you want someone to correct the grammar? it's pretty good already, but here you go:
Over 1.5 thousand people took part in a rally and march in Warsaw under the slogan: 'Women's Solidarity March', which wanted to protest against the tightening of anti-abortion laws in Poland. At the moment abortion can only be done in Poland if:
1. The pregnancy is an effect of rape,
2. The pregnancy is a danger to the woman's health
3. The child will be born dead
The nationalist party the League of Polish Families (PFL) because it's losing popularity, wants to change the Constitution to guarantee that abortion will be banned entirely in order to regain support with proclerical and nationalist voters.
The demonstrators included the Association of Women 8 march, the Federation of Family Planning and a variety of left organisations, of which the greatest number came from the Polish Labour Party. The demonstration was also backed by union activists from the Free Trade Union 'August80'.
The protesters where shouting: 'My body. My choice!' and 'Hands off the constitution!'.
In front of Parliament the protest met counter-demonstrators from the nationalist group All Polish Youth, which is connected to the League of Polish Families. The group contained around 50 (according to the police) to 100 (according to the organisers) bald guys, of whom around 20 were with their teenage girlfriends.
The nationalists shouted: 'Great Poland Stays Catholic', 'Faggots and the Left go to hell' and 'All Polish are pro-life'. As usual, they carried photos of dead kids and, as an innovation this time, they held natural-sized, plastic models of human embryos.

Isn't League of Polish Families that neo-Nazi party funded by Opus Dei?
One of the twins prefers the company of men, incidentally: I forget which one though. And yet Poles are still stupidly voting for these right-wing parties in spite of their hypocrisy. (Nothing wrong with being gay, but there is something wrong with being gay and persecuting others gays.)

Wow, what reactionary assholes. I'm not surprised though, Poland has been becoming increasingly reactionary over the years. Theyre the most loyal ally of the US in Eastern Europe.

From what i've heard there's recently been a bunch of anti-US protests in Poland, turns out they're not happy with the idea of being the US's missile base (nor, apparently, with Russia's threat to blow up the US missile base). The people also tend to be against the war, thank god more people are waking up to the stupidity of simply following bush into Iraq.

The government is very reactionary though, which means that a sizeable portion of the Polish population is reactionary.

I agree. Every Pole I know is stupidly religious. But my point was how a sizeable portion of the population is no longer prepared to just eat of of george bush's hands anymore.

we have got more radical righties that work mainly underground, by there weren't any on the counterprotest I think.

The nationalist and conservative voters voted mainly to not allow liberals to win, the procentage that is totaly against abortion etc. is around 20 %
