I hope no one laughs but I was wondering if I could take my case to the United Nations? how would i go about doing this? I feel as if i need to at least try...

FIRST OF ALL I want to thank everyone who contributed to my thread about The U.S. in latin America.. specially Comrade Bread Bros. See thread here. (http://www.revleft.com/index.php?showtopic=63214&st=0&#entry1292272000)

I've read the Monroe Doctrine as well as The Roosevelt Corollary and I'm fucking sick to my stomach. I believe that I've have identified one of the roots of the major problem. This has made all the stuff I've read about Central American, and Cuba regime changes a lot more real i supposed?

Latin America was taken advantage by the U.S. and by it's own "leaders" that the people trusted. It just solidifies more my belief in the class struggle and how capitalism is cancer that has to be cut off. Im sick, I'm sadden. for fuck sake.. i live in belly of the beast. And I fee as I have to tell everyone and do something.

I read how Cuba and Nicaragua went to the UN or to the "world court" with evidence that the U.S. was committing terrorist acts and hostility towards them. and how The UN or the "world court" ruled in their favor, yet the United States didn't care and continued it's terror campaigns against these countries governments. a war against the people and their democracy!!!!

this scares the shit out of me. are we fucked this bad? that NO ONE, NOTHING can stop this fuck government? not even the damn U.N. does no one have the fucking balls to stand and say enough is enough????

is there any way I can get like.. signatures or do something so that we can take this case to the world and set up some sort of law that reverses the Monroe and Roosevelt Corollary???

perhaps if other countries agreed and we all come together. because this is bullshit. this is like legal imperialism and they fucking invented .

you guys think is possible? to start a campaign? and get this going? can it be done????

There have been public campaigns of this sort going on for 40+ years. If the United States can shrug off damning criticism from the UN, and force support from governments whose economy relies solely on the US, then they can endure a dip in their popularity. They are preparing for "Bastion USA".

The UN court was created to hear cases between different countries over various political issues. For example, DRC vs. France or Nicaragua vs. US. So you would have to get the leader of a UN country involved in order for the court to hear your case.

perhaps if I can approach, write, try my hardest to get a world leader to hear me out. Im in the process of writing my declaration. as a human being and citizen of this planet i believe i have every damn right to stand there and be heard.

I was thinking about something like this the other day....
Considering the treatment and persecution that undocumented immigrants experience in the US today by the American INS, specifically the conditions under which they live when they're arrested by the INS, could a case be brought against the US government for this mistreatment of foreign nationals?
The abuse of power is incredible..., ppl are literally persecuted and harassed by the INS and/or the current US administration
And then when they're arrested, they're put into these overcrowded and unsanitary cells, not only adults but also children and young ppl
In addition, these ppl sit in these cells for months while they're case is prepared and looked over
Its ridiculous the way the American government treats undocumented immigrants, and I think foreign governments should at least bring this up at the UN
But sadly, most of these governments are cowards and don't even have the decency to look after their own ppl living in their country
Fuckin shameful
But anyways, could such a case be brought up against the US?

Since when has the UN done shit?

Although I would sign or help out in any way I could.

True, they've never done shit
But this action is intended to attract media and public attention to the cause, in addition to unnerving the Americans

i was thinking the same thing.. but like Tekun said at least make it known and be heard.

Tekun maybe you should help me out... to write this declaration.
i want to ask a question. to the people. and like i said i want to denounce the monroe doctrine and the roosevelt corollary. i would like to touch on all the interventions the U.S. had in Latin America, who THEIR candidates they supported were and how it did more to divide the people on those countries.. etc.

realise that the UN is nothing but an organisation of bourgeois world leaders and dictators, who arent really interested in anything but consolidating their power and discrediting other world leaders

Sure thing

This action would be like Malcolm X's beef at the UN, where he knew they weren't gonna do shit, but he was doing it to publicize and get media attention

Exactly.

The US has the majority of votes (since voting power is weighted by contribution ($)) and so can essentially make any decision it wants to benefit themselves. The UN is powerless.

International Law is a farce because it is impossible to enforce. The US has more military and dollar power than any country in the world. If anyone is enforcing ANYthing, it's them doing whatever the fuck they want.

I'm not sure what good will come out of going to the UN. The GA of the UN amkes only non-binding resolutions, the Security Council makes binding resolutions, however the US is a permanent member and thus has veto power. As far as the ICJ goes, the US does not reckognize it and thus won't allow its citizens to be tried under it, so the US ignores it. The US was already found guilty of using undue force against Nicaragua in a 1986 iCJdecision and was ordered to pay Nicaragua reparations. Of course, the US ignored that decision and never did pay any reparations. The UN is just not a good avenue to go through.
