IRAQI UNION OFFICES RAIDED

Six days ago, US and Iraqi forces raided the head offices of the General
Federation of Iraqi Workers (GFIW), the country's national trade union center.
They arrested one of the union's security staff (later released unharmed),
destroyed furniture, and confiscated a computer and fax machine. And then they
did it again two days later, causing further damage to the union headquarters.

The union is condemning the attacks as unprovoked. It is calling on the
occupation forces to issue a written apology, to return all the seized property,
and to pay compensation for damages caused.

They are asking unions around the world to send messages of protest by clicking

dude it's a fucking war, regardless if this was justified, you can't succesfully operate a campaign if you follow those principals.

Well the occupation was supposed to rid Iraq of dicatorship. Has this happened? I really don't think so, the raiding of unions however shows what class the occupation army support

they raided it because they saw armed gaurds outside and htought they were insurgents, that is if this is the same incident as this.

i highly doubt that union leaders are on high priority for our troops to harrass.

Hmm now they harrassed it for the 600 time, they know were it are so you argument is not good. When it was just set up a couple of years ago first thing the forces did was to raid it.
And people wonder why people wanna kill occupation solders...

So in war, freedom of speach, democracy and human rights go out the window?

Do us a favour, join the military, go to Iraq, and immediately get yourself killed. That's the only way you can benefit humanity at this point.

and also... if the miltary thought they were insurgents... and raided them. They proved not to be. Why did they do it again a second time?

um yeah you can't exactly execute a war and respect human rights at the same time, it would be impossible.

"excuse, enemy combatant? i sure would like to kill you but i need a warrant and we have to have a trial first"

good luck with that. just take not that i in no way said this was justified, but rather the way it is.

Cab drivers in Iraq have armed gaurds, women and children carry guns in Baghdad. They'd be raiding every public toilett and shishkebab shop if armed gaurds in Bagdad implied insurgents.

An insurgency that stood openly in front of it's public offices shouldn't have taken this many years to defeat.... maybe they should analyze that tactis.
