foreign bands singing in english

my friend recently introduced me to this japanese band called dir en grey. they're ok...i wouldnt be thrilled with them. but they're trying to break america right now, so they're writing more english songs. its really funny, coz the lead singer's pronunciation is TERRIBLE. sometimes i wish they'd just do it in japanese
do you think non-english speaking bands should write songs in english. i mean, its really untrue to their roots, isnt it? :star:

all made music in English
with practically no mistakes

The Japanese are known for their widespread use of totally incorrect English pronunciation. They have a hard time not saying a vowel following every consonant sound.

I fucking love Dir en Grey. I can even say that they're are my favorite band without hesitation. I think you mean that song Clever Sleazoid eh? He sings it mostly in english and I didn't know that before. Anyway I heard that he sings in Japanese almost as bad as he sings in english. It's for the effect.

I don&#39;t care what language they sing in. IMO, it should depend on whether singing in Language A would improve the song or would Language B be better instead?

No one nation or population owns a language. Musicians should sing in any language they wish - sometimes it&#39;s not always the lyrics that make a song.

1. ik vind UDS wel goed, maar op elk vlak zijn opgezwolle beter. ik zet Vloeistof tegen elk UDS album dat jij kan bedenken

2. Osdorp Posse rapte ook in het nederlands, trouwens, Spraakwater was toch een goed nummer ("ik breng binnenlandse funk op verzoek, die gaat er in als koek, ik zet stoute rappers in de hoek, want ik ben jullie meester weet je nog je wist ervan, hiphop is een vak en extince is de vakman)
ook Typhoon is beter dan UDS

1. Live in Beograd en het nieuwe collectie album met nummers sinds 1982. Ik vind het accent van die Sticks en Rico ten eerste niet lekker om naar te luisteren. Hun teksten zijn ook matig en nogmaals hun muziek klinkt als industrial in een niet muzikale zin (meet naar kleterende stalen kettingen met een pingpong beat). Politieke inhoud is er bij de bijde wel enigzinds in de teksten, maar toch wat meer bij de UDS. Ik hoor Opgezwolle meer over illegale schuurfeestjes lullen :P, hoewel de ft.&#39;s met raymzter wel cool waren. Hun muziek is zeer geinspireerd door RATM en hun crossover is geweldig.

2. Idd, de OP rapte in het Nederlands, ik zei ook niet dat ik maar ook iets tegen Nederhop had :P. Ik vind de UDP gewoon een stuk beter dan Opgezwolle, maar niet omdat ik engels of nederlands beter vind klinken. Ow en reactie op die lyrics;

It doesn&#39;t matter to me whether a band sings in English, their native language, or whatever.

The band Killer Bunny from Iceland sing in English and you&#39;d never know that by listening to their songs. They have almost perfect pronunciation.

they use a lot of engrish in their newest album. i was shocked to find out that agitated screams of maggots is in english :blink:
