I remember some time ago I heard a story that while Bakunin was in the US, he attempted to convince a group of feminists to go and blow up Congress, with the result being that said feminists promptly turned him over to the authorities and he was deported from the country.
As aforementioned, I unfortunately don't recall where I heard this little anecdote from, hence I'm hoping that someone here can validate or disprove it. Admittedly, I haven't done any in-depth research on the matter, only the cursory flipping through a few tomes/online searches (though I am trying to get my paws on a copy of Avrich's essay "Bakunin and the United States"), and thusly I would appreciate any help anyone can provide in the further elucidation of this most curious matter :)...ThankS!
