Between 1964 and 1970 BBC had a show called "The Wednesday Play" showing a lot of different drama movies for TV. There was a lot of great movies presented in this show, including a few by Ken Loach whom most of you are familiar with. The most sucessfull of these movies was "Cathy Come Home" (1966) by Ken Loach. This movie had an enormous inpact on britain and caused a lot of debate and change.

Plot synopsis:
Cathy and Reg fall on hard times when Reg is injured at work. They begin a slide into poverty, debt and homelessness, until the authorities forcibly take Cathy's children away.

Cathy come home is just as important today as ever before. I would very much recommend everyone here to view it. Unfortunatly it is quite hard to come bye, it can be bought at amazon for quite a sum. If you find it anywere else, let me know.
