I'm writing a letter to Fidel Castro and I'm in the US. I was wondering how I could do it. I was thinking of sending it to the Mexican embassy and getting them to send to Cuba. I was wondering if anybody might know of a way.

Probably you can't.
A few years ago, I wanted to send a letter to Castro to open up the country and allow elections, new ideas and the opportunitiy for the Cuban people to choose new leadership but to no availl.

I'm pretty sure that you can e-mail the Cuban government.

Try starting there. If not, look at the PCC website (the communist party).

The best way is to deliver it in person to the Cuban consulate in your country. Explain to them who you are, what the letter is, and who it's for. You'll probably want to give them a good reason to actually pass it on.

Do you think that Fidel will ever actually end up receiving it? And, even if he did, I doubt he'd take any of the suggestions to heart.

Yeah, probably. Your point?

I was just questioning whether it's worth writing or not because I doubt that a head of state can receive every letter written to them.

And I doubt that he will be interested at this moment - he's an old man recovering from serious illness.

No consulates, only a delegation to the UN in New York, and a special interests section in DC.

It'd be kinda pointless asking one of the most democratically free countries in the world to open up elections. Unless, of course, you mean they should allow millionaires to monopolize the political system so that only the super rich can ever hope to run and win office. Is that what you feel elections should be?
