Using the Stefan-Boltzmann fourth power law for radiation:

(H/E)^4 = 50
where E is the absolute temperature of the earth, 300°K (273+27). This gives H the absolute temperature of Heaven, as 798° absolute (525°C).

Now for Hell:

"Revelations 21:8"
But the fearful and unbelieving... shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone.

Brimstone is an archaic term for sulphur. For sulfur to be in liquid, molten form it must be above its melting point (388.36 K), and below its boiling point (717.8 K)

Even if it were infinitesimally below the boiling point (717.799999999... K), Heaven is still hotter than Hell, for molten sulfur to flow in Hell's rivers.

Sound like a hot topic. :P no theist I can think of who believe relelation (or simliar texts) word for word, most don't believe in it at all.

Old Testament prophets were poets at heart. The majority of Hebrew Scriptures were written in a poetic and figurative manner. Thus, the passage is not a scientific treatise on the temperatur of heaven, rather; it is simply stating that heaven is full of "light". Light obviously represents happiness.

There's always an excuse to why the OT can be used as fact when they want (ie against gays) and as "poetry" or "history" or something when they feel like it (like when they're at Red Lobster ordering shrimp).

I had a conversation like this with my driver's ed teacher a while ago. Whenever something crazy was brought up in the OT, he said "Well we don't take that literally, it's just more of a history, the NT is all about god and faith." But then, why base your hatred of homosexuality on historical texts? That's like saying you can hate black people because the history book says that's what white people used to do.

The entire Bible is bullshit. There is no need to even put forth effort in trying to prove it wrong - any Christian who actually reads the damn thing (& not just the nice verses the pastor picks out) will stop believing on their own.
