"In the so called mistakes of Stalin lies the difference between a revolutionary attitude and a revisionist attitude. You have to look at Stalin in the historical context in which he moves, you don't have to look at him as some kind of brute, but in that particular historical context . . . I have come to communism because of daddy Stalin and nobody must come and tell me that I mustn't read Stalin. I read him when it was very bad to read him. That was another time. And because I'm not very bright, and a hard-headed person, I keep on reading him. Especially in this new period, now that it is worse to read him. Then, as well as now, I still find a Seri of things that are very good."

You keep trying to justify that fascist freak right? Let's see how many people you win over.

Well not fascist, but perhaps he had an authoritarian streak. I suppose running about in the jungles with a gun brings that side out in people if they survive long enough.

Yeah, he meant Stalin, not Che. Anyway, the word you are looking for is not "fascist", but most likely authoritarian.

Che Guevara was a revolutionary but not perfect he needed allies and since they weren't going to get help off the US, He had to appeal elsewhere the only other fully sovern (and powerful) nation at the time was the USSR, think about it Castro started off a cappie... so give him a break, we may need to find solidarity with organizations that we do not support, in times of struggle.

It's been well documented that Che became quite disillusioned with the USSR and Stalinism in general after he visited it. Many of the students who went with Che to Bolivia were from Trotskyist organisations, as many of the South American Communist Parties refused to answer Che's call to arms.

For more information check out Jorge Castaneda's biography Compañero. The life and death of Ché Guevara.

Worst case of anarchist apolegism . Maybe practice brings out the revolutionary in people?

This shows that he came to realize that it wasnt exactly a good thing.. I mean you can read Mao, and find good things, yet still comprehend that Mao comitted many grave mistakes

No geez, I dont think that Che is that. I was referring to Stalin.

Misusing the word fascism leads to nothing but confusion, and benefits no one but the bourgeoisie
I'll accept my mistake here, I'm just confused over why people seem so intent on apologizing for Stalin and his crimes.

because you've been using the word to describe everyone and everything you disagree with.
Where? Excuse me if I did.

I'll read Stalin, analyze his actions, then laugh and shake my head
Stalin is a perfect example of what to avoid as a radical leftist

think about it Castro started off a cappie.

What??

When did Fidel Castro own a business, employ workers, or live off of a capital investment?

Never.
I know I read it somewhere on this forum... I think it was in "Engels... Rich!?!" if not then it is here somewhere
