Anyone here interested in the situation in Moldova, and the actions of the so-called "communist" party?
Has the "CP" actually done anything to strengthen the proletariat and peasantry in Moldova?
What is your view?

I know nothing about what is going on there, what's happening?

I think Taiga is from Moldova.
I'd kind of like an update on Trans-dneister's recent elections. The West were calling them a farce but we all know how trustworthy US media sources are.

The Communist Party runs the government, as do "communist" parties in parts of India, etc. Of course they're not really communist parties, and so nothing really changes under them. In some parts of India, under communist governments and "united left" governments that contain "communists," things are actually getting worse.
Yet more proof that we should judge people and organizations by their actions, not by what they call themselves, or what others call them.. as if more proof were actually needed.

I agree that we need to judge by actions.
The communist party of Kerala (Southeast India) has done some impressive things with the state, and that should be recognized. That's my impression from people who've travelled there and statistics, anyway.

That doesn't make them communists except the name. The neighbour of Kerala, Tamilnadu has doen excellently in terms of progress in 50 years and didn't had communists in power.
The problem with those reformists "Communist" parties is their leaders. They still live in early 40's and still uphold the stupid two stage theories.

India's Parliamentary "Communists" are a joke. All they do is form coalitions with pro-American parties of the bourgeois centre (Hello, INC) under the flimsy justification that they are much less bad than Hindu Nationalists (But then again, Indian politics is complete nonsense. The previous governing coaltion had the overtly atheistic, libertine, and minarchist Liberal Party propping up Hindutva nationalists and neo-Nazis in the BJP and Shiv Sena.)...But they do a decent job at the state level, if Karela and West Bengal's literacy and infant mortality rates are anything to go by.

Some of you guys have a really simplistic view of socialism. Some people here expect countries like Cuba, DPRK, China, Laos, Vietnam ect to be perfect states and other countries that don't immediately become 100% socialist like Bolivia, Venezuela, Moldova, India, Nepal ect are also trashed here. Get real. Socialism is based on the support of the masses..if you only have support from 40-60% of the people of course you wouldn't ram 100% socialism down the whole country's throat. It wouldn't really be a very good socialism if half the working class still opposes it. Also, if Moldova were to totally nationalize everything and declare a socialist state, all the countries around it and the US would boycott and embargo it...ruining the country and plunging it into poverty and famine. Moldova has no resources of it's own. It must work in the world as it is, not how they wish it to be. Idealism gets you nowhere. Be a realist and play your cards when the time is right. The more nations with valuable resources like Venezuela move in a socialist direction...the more others can follow.

Yet more proof that the proletariat should ignore bourgeois elections and take power by force. We shouldn't play their games.
