Some of you may not have heard of this but the military has developed a system that allows soldiers to email each other pictures on the battlefeild giving information, they have a computer built into all their equipment, the gn has a comaera on it so they don't have to peer around corners, they stick their gun out and the image appears on their monitor. They have several types of scopes, night vision, infored, you name it they have it.

Also the police have made astounding strides. THey have machine guns firing pepper pounder, and stink bombs made to stop people rather than kill them. They have solid hard plastic cylinders that can break arms. Solid plastic cylinders than can knock you off your feet. Net cannons and the greatest of all the stick shocker. A grenade launcher type weapon that launches cylinders that stick to someone and sends powerful electrical shocks through them. The police can control the shocks.

All of this will make the revolution hard. The police weapons will be easier to obtain but the military land warrior units.....its gonna be hard to fight.

How can we suceed when they have weapons that can stop us in our tracks and not kill us (so they capture us) and guns that can be the eyes for a soldier.

Hit and Run Warfare my friend..
Hopefully, we won't require massive military casualties. Remember the Russian Revolution? Even the Soldiers and once loyal people of the Czar turned against their opressor.

(Watch the movie 'Rasputin'. There's a scene where a general orders two soldiers to shoot a peasant uprising, and instead, the soldiers shoot the general.)

I Don't think it would be a good idea to fight the military head on. I think the revolutionaries will hide most of the time (not in caves but using fake I.D's and fake pass ports) and when the time is right they will come out and assassinate members of the capitalist government, blowup goverment building ,distroy military buildings, and do everything possible to ruin the economy (without targeting innocent civilians). Then go back to hidding. After years, maby decades of reapeting this the government will be weak enough to take over.

If the revolution ever did happen thats what i think it would be like but i don't bileve a revolution is necessary. Communism can be established threw burocracy.

a guerilla band functioning in the manner you describe would either be wiped out, or slowly ground down until they lost effectiveness as a fighting force.

The revolution, if/when it comes, will only happen when the military becomes a politicized. In the US, there is a long tradition of the military staying out of politics. The US military will support it's CIC, because that's the way it has always been.

There may be some small scale acts of revolt within the armed forces, but they are minimal right now, and look to be the same in the future.

As for weaponry, well, a revolution against the state is going to eat up revolutionary soldiers like crazy... a land army cannot beat a force with air superiority in a direct conflict.

not only do they have air superiority Anarcho but with the new technology ground soldiers can send them electronic maps and messages of were to strike to improve accuracy.

Actually, there was an urban wargame that the army held a little while ago, and soldiers using advanced technology actually got trashed, as they were busy fiddling with their laptops and such and got shot. I know it sounds cliche, but the article is somewhere on www.strategypage.com

Guys get real I'm all for fighting for a better world but there is no way in hell you will be able to defeat a billion dollar military budget. Aside from this enormous budget you have soldiers who are trained to kill. If you were to try some type of urban warfare i assure you, you will get destroyed within days. The only way you can make changes, as pathetic and as hard as it will be, is by educating the masses. In all honesty I don't believe that would work either nowadays. But I'm sure you could improve some things.
You guys are not Al-Qaeda, who is probably one of the best funded, best trained guerrilla units. You think if what you guys are saying is possible these guys wouldn't have tried it? They are willing to blow themselves up planes, cars, etc. But they know better than to waste their lives trying to fight the USA gov/t head on. Only through properly strategiized missions can you inflict damage and minimal at best. Realize they are killing civilians many times.
Really think about what you guys are saying cus i feel that you are really living in a fantasy world. Peace

One last thing since my last post was sort of negative to you guys. The only way to overthrow the government through force would be if the military turned against it. But then noone is sure what the military would want.
In order to bring about a change you have to start ground up and get involved in every aspect. By infilitrating the military, perhaps not directly, you will be able to overthrow the government. THis is what happened Afghanistan. Many socialists joined the army pre 1978 revolution, and when the time was right they turned against the government. You either need to get people to join the army and work there way up or you have to somehow get through to the army perhaps by holding meetings when they are off duty. THis my friends is the only way through force, and it definantly works.

It's not like that with a guerilla army. Of course a standing army would be obliterated. But look at the damage they did in America with just a few knives to hijack planes

The people are the key to change. Once they are informed, once they are unsatisfied with their lives and they realize that there is an alternative. THen change can occur.

When people's lives get real bad then they will get angry at the government that failed them
