View Full Version : Tim Hardaway Hates Gay People.

I'm sure some of you heard about Tim Hardaway's fucking bullshit crap he said on an interview with ESPN. He flat out said, "I hate gay people." You can listen to it here (http://youtube.com/watch?v=XFP9rCnXR54&mode=related&search=).
What made me particularly happy though, was George Takei's (star trek celeb) PSA in response to this. Check it out (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA20dKc3kK8). Probably one of the best ways of dealing with this douche bag.
(mods: i couldn't decide of discrimination or chitchat was more appropriate. do with it what you will)

Unfuckingbelievable! It's unreal that he had the nerve to say that... I bet he would be pissed off if some white guy said "I hate black people, I let it be known that I don't like them, they shouldn't be in the world, and I wouldn't want them in my locker room." Hypocrite asshole...

Unfuckingbelievable!
Really? I thought it was pretty believable myself. Let's face it, while approximately 54% of the US population has no problem with gay people (it's a majority, but a pretty slim one), a sizable amount are just like this guy. The battle against homophobia shall continue.
Let's look at the bright side; it opened up the issue. Homosexuality in sports is something rarely discussed, even though statistically, 1-5% of players should be homosexuals.

Its disgusting. At least, however, this is now becoming an issue that will be more and more discussed. Homophobia shouldnt be accepted. Hopefully the NBA will fire this fucker but I doubt it'll happen. As for George Takei, I loved him in Star Trek, I love him even more now, hes the man!

I'm suprised he was so honest about; he said some homophobic shit and then the radio announcer was like, 'well Tim, you realise what you're saying is flatly homophobic?' And he's just like, 'yeah, i know... im homophobic, i hate gay people' etc.

Let's face it, homophobia in sport is a major problem. Frankly it is better to have an idiot like that be honest about it and allow it to be exposed, than t is for it to be hiddem and brushed under the carpet.

Unless you're being sarcastic, that sentence makes no fucking sense whatsoever.

This sentence makes more sense, i agree it is better - better that there is an open discussion about homophobia in sport, than no discussion at all.

Personally I fail to see why people, hetro men especially, have a problem with gay people.
Men don't get all worried that some women might want to fuck them, yet they get worried that some man might. It is a compliment. Not only that, the more gay men about, the less competition there is. Surely those hetro men should be wanting more people to be gay.
Onto the specific issue of sport, considering the remarks made by certain people I know (comments about how football players especially whack each others arses and go into group hugs and so on), I am surprised that it is an issue.
Sorry if I am a bit incoherent here.

Wow tim hardaway is a piece of shit.
on a lighter note did you hear that line "don't wanna come out of the closet" reminded me of that southpark episode with r kelly, and tom cruise on scientology. I know it has no relevence but just had to put it for the south park fans.

re your sig:
How can you admire some prat who is firmly entrenched in liberal factions of the American bourgeoisie, which can be proven by his support for the war in Afghanistan.

I was wondering about that.
What are you doing admiring a moralist, legalist anti-worker prick?

Why are you all so, um...shocked by this? This is pretty much what most men think. Homophobia is everywhere, even amongst some people who take a more "critical" stance towards the ruling ideas of our society.

I'm pretty sure that the NBA cut off all association from him for his comments.

I am often saddened by things like this. Not so much that he hates gays but that he is a part of a minority that is being suppressed and at the same time he participates in suppressing a different minority. But I guess he doesn't have to acknowledge that he is suppressed anymore since he is ultra-rich.

I assume you didn't watch the George Takai clip. Go back to the top and check that out. It is really funny and Jimmy Kimmel says that the NBA has banned Tim from all NBA functions.

I never said I admired him, I applaud and respect him, big difference
Nevertheless, I heard about him on NPR, and he seemed like a very sincere and courageous person
Could u offer a link that shows his connections to the American bourgeoisie?

Again, I never said I admired him
Could u offer links which show me that he's a moralist, legalist anti-worker?
I'm more than happy to remove him from my sig, anyone can make a mistake, but Im gonna need some evidence

I think they are talking about what The Worker brings up on page 2 of The Worker #20.

I applaud him for not killing people there. I don't care if he is bourgeois. He went out on patrols without any bullets in his rifle by himself because he didn't want to kill any Iraqi's. That takes balls whoever you are.

Sadly, this isn't all that uncommon. Go lurk on the Assata Speaks forums and you'll probably come across more than your fair share of it.
On the original topic, what kills me is these douchebags making racist, anti-semitic or homophobic remarks that are pretty damn clear releasing an apology a day later about how they really didn't mean it. Fuck them.

I know it is not uncommon. The other day I saw a picture of a butch lesbian holding an anti-Mexican immigrant sign. I was watching a C-Span show called Washington Journal on MLK Day and there were many black people calling in saying how Dr MLK jr. would have been against the Mexicans coming over here and taking their jobs. These people were calling in saying how he would have been against these hungry, poor immigrants coming over to survive and I just thought it was backwards day. That one really baffled me. I am sitting there listening to my brothers and sisters speak about my people as if they are dirt. Now I could understand if this was your average white power redneck but these were people in the same boat as us. The people that called in seemed to be poking holes in the boat and taking us all down.
