for the love of god and all that is holy, do not use Myspace to try to get comrades from your school. A friend of mine did that, and our school checked his myspace. By finding out his interests in communism, they linked him with a bunch of political graffiti that was found around our school, and they almost got me too.

don't doubt your school checks your myspace, your school administration is more than likely full of dicks who don't want revolutionaries for students.

Kinda similar to that kid who was caught for a crime he committed based on what he said in his Myspace profile. It's probably not a good idea to post "risky" material on your Myspace profile in general cause schools and employers can and sometimes do check that stuff. Facebook, on the other hand, is a bit safer/more private.

fanx guys ill keep that in mind, anyhow there aren't many `comrades` at my school, i was sorely tempted to start a forum and find them

Question everything

:( sux to hear your friend got in trouble, maybe I should take out My School address, but mine is viewable by friends only, and so far I have only talked to people (mostly close friends) about my views and other issues, but good hint If I'm ever about to graffiti or something, I'll disconnect from my school, and take down most of the more radical things...

Yeah, my school went around checking all the students myspaces earlier this year. They were looking at the "Drinking/Smoking" responces and if a student said yes to either they were drug tested. Quite a few got busted.

god, if every i become the leader of a country, the first thing i would do would be to liberalize the school system, or perhaps i would dismantle it....

Yeah, I'd advise anyone who has a myspace to make it private so only friends can view it.

It the same with bebo, our headmaster has an account so he can check up on people.

You can still utlize myspace as a networking tool. You can also (assuming you live in a capitalist republic, and not, say, Saudi Arabia) throw hammers and sickles all over your page.

What you shouldn't do is admit to any illegal activity (duh!), claim responsibility for any grafitti, etc.

It's also a good idea to sign up for things like myspace, yahoo accounts, etc. with fictitious info. Don't use your real name and address. Use something like "John Smith, 123 some st, NY, NY 10031." People you want to know it's you will (when you email them, or when they see your pic, etc.), and people you don't want to know about your account will have a harder time finding it (they won't be able to do a name search in myspace and yahoo directories for example).

It's all pretty much common sense stuff, but it seems it still has to be said.

why would you want to put all your personal information available for the world anyway? It makes campaiging against cameras because they invade our privacy seem a bit useless.

Also, make your profiles PRIVATE, so people (i.e. schools etc) will need your consent to view your profile.

And so on.

Don't use MySpace. If you do, don't put personally identifiable information on there. Even putting your schools is bad, 'cause people who know you can identify you.

Mr Murdoch and Co. make shitloads of money of MySpace. Use alternatives.

I still have photos and things on my myspace. Not my whole name or any other details though. And people shouldn't be able to link my myspace to anything else, like on here for example. I should probably start deleting the revleft URL from the history here at school though. We've never had any leftist issues here though. Except once a couple of years ago a girl glued this picture to my locker of her ex saying blah blah blah here's your punk boyfriend anarchy raahhh. And I called her a fascist and got in trouble for it. Then we had to have all these meetings with teachers and file reports. Funny thing is the school sided with me in the end and threatened to kick her out of the student council. But yeah other than that nothing. Our school blocks things like myspace and ebuddy etc. I'm not worried though. I may just set my profile to private. That's it. I only have people I know on my list, mostly.

As soon as he bought Myspace, I deleted my account.

I take it most of you guys live in America?

I've never heard of stuff like that, your schools looking through your myspace to find criminating information.
What wankers.
Still unless you brag about the revolutionary/illegal activites that you've done you should be alright. I mean that unless you've done something specifically linked with school, and then you post about it, there's a small chance of you gettting caught.

But i used myspace regularlly, and now want to quit, because these damn facsist pig-dogs run it...

...lets get hacking lads/lasses

hmmmm... that headmaster/bebo stuff seems pretty common. The sneaky fuckers are not even letting youngsters like some of you guys have a private life anymore.
