So one of the most influential and scariest neo-conservative think tank (American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research) is having an event, "Moving toward a Free Cuba" on February 27.

They are going to talk about, well let me quote them directly:

United States can play a crucial, supportive role by joining the Cuban people in pressing for a genuine transition that dismantles the vestiges of a cruel police state and command economy by rejecting a rapprochement with a successor regime

Here is the website: http://www.aei.org/events/type.upcoming,ev...vent_detail.asp (http://www.aei.org/events/type.upcoming,eventID.1471,filter.all/event_detail.asp)

There is a link where one can register to this event, I think anyone in the DC area should go to this event and let us know what these right wing assholes have in plan for Cuba. Remember these people pretty much shape Bush's policies, so I think it'll be a good idea to find out what they say.

You want to know what they plan on doing with Cuba?

Look at Haiti, or the DR.

I was watching a docoumentary on Cuba. It was non biased and showed the good and the bad, but the interesting thing was that almost everyone loved Castro and supported Socialism.

There was a scene where a group of people protesting for so called democracy and economic freedom (Captalism), were being being booed and insulted by a crowd, who were singing and shouting phrases like Viva Fidel, Viva Socialism, eventually the much larger pro Fidel crowd joined in with the police in chasing the protesters away.

It's amazing how much people in Cuba hate America and Miami Cuban exiles.

To be fair, we need some stats on the Cuban population that have only known one leader their whole lives, Castro. It must be a very large part of the population.

Most Iraqi's have only known 1 leader their whole lives, Saddam and the majority of Iraqi's hated him.
