i got this from a friend.. when we were talking about god and religion!
what do you guys think?

an invention of spirits and gods are all idoltry and is not actually worship to
GOD himself.

magicians and sorcerers are all sinners and their chance into making it into the kingdom of GOD is less than squeezing a camel through the eye of a needle.

kings and pharaohs who worship idoltry gods make GOD angry and those who worship these idoltry gods are sinning all the same.

scientists looking for logical explanations are not as blessed as those who believe without seeing (miracles).

it sounds like something that the local minister would preach, to me it sounds very christian, that only cause i go to a catholic skool (unfortunatly, not by choice) and it very naive, oppressive and untolerable of other religions. They think their god is the best and you must not ask questions but blindly follow, if this was the case we must blindly follow everyone who tells us to what they say and dont ask questions, its bullshit and stuff like that really makes me mad  God gave human the ability to sin but when they do, he is disappointed wtf! this God guy is a weirdo

This is sad because this is not what the Bible teaches. You should try reading Mere Christianity by C.S Lewis, http://www.lib.ru/LEWISCL/mere_engl.txt It might help everyone here at this wonderful site gain an understanding at what the Bible really teaches. :D

Giving to the poor is reformism. With socialism you won't have poor. The bible teaches hate, which is why christians hate homosexuals so much. Religion also promotes individaulism.

Actually it is. Giving money to third world countries creates a culture of apathy and perpetuates the 'hand-out' myth.

Are you saying that it is bad to give a homeless person a place to stay or a coat to wear for when it is cold or something to eat. That we should just say, "Screw you guys, I'm not helping you until AFTER the socialist/communist/anarchist revolution"? How could you say something like that?

Because he knows what he is talking about. And also so you would have a better understanding about what it is that we believe. Do you know who C.S. Lewis is?

I'm sure we've all read the relevant parts,

Well at least the parts so you can justify your hatred for people who believe in God, which requires taking things out of context. I had a discussion with MrDoom about this once. But I can not find the link, it appears that everything from before January is now gone, :(

Of course I know who C.S Lewis is, but why are the words of C.S Lewis more relevant to what Christianity is about than the Bible itself? Did God appoint C.S Lewis as a prophet to clear up all the nasty bits in the Bible that liberal Christians like to ignore?

Ok, wasn't sure if you did or not. He isn't more relevant than the Bible itself. He just knows what he is talking about. Something else I am not sure if you know about but the book Mere Christianity was originally a group of radio broadcasts that he gave and then turned them into a very good book. I have provided a free link, when you have the time I suggest that you should read it and then you can decide if he knows what he is talking about.

I never said I hate people who believe in God

You might not, it was more of a general statement about what the general attitude here seems. A few even think that after the revolution all religious people should be banned. This was talked about with MrDoom but it seems that those discussions are now gone, :(, otherwise I would provide a link.

Yea, let's not forget teaching that women come from the rib of a man, and should be in total subservience to man, and a wife should obey her husband no matter what, and that we (homosexuals), are sexual deviant sinners that will burn eternally for our sins, and that we should always obey the laws of the land and the masters, because god has placed the masters and despots to their titles in his infinite wisdom, and how eating shellfish is a sin, and other such bullshit.

Just simple follow the 10 commandent, if sin, your sentence are death unless u ask god for forgiveness.

So let me get this straight...

I am your God
Awfully dictorial, no? Just marching in and saying, "I am your God whether you like it or not!"

You shall have no other gods before Me
And he's a jealous dictator...

You shall not make for yourself an idol
And a faceless one whom you wouldn't recognize in the street yet is always watching and has total control over your actions...

You shall not make wrongful use of the name of your God
So you'd kill someone if they said "Jeez"? Outright murder.

Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy
Yeah, we know that God kills people who work on Sunday (or, Saturday, rather).

Honor your parents
So you would kill a kid who doesn't like his parents?

You shall not murder
But people murder others in the name of God all the time.

You shall not commit adultery
So women are property to be protected by property rights...

You shall not steal
What if stealing is the right thing to do?

You shall not bear false witness
What if lying is the right thing to do?

You shall not covet your neighbor's wife
You shall not covet your neighbor's house...
More of this property protection...

How many people would you kill in the end anyways? <_<

Why do you keep insisting that the Bible does not preach intolerance towards homosexuals? Are you just trying to pretend those bits of the Bible aren't there because they don't jive with your personal opinions? Leviticus 20:13 is very clear on this: "If a man has sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman, both of them have done what is detestable. They are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads." These are direct orders from God to Moses, just like the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20) and that chapter right after the Ten Commandments that says it's okay to sell your daughter into slavery (Exodus 21).

You have two choices here:

1) Ignore this commandment from Yahweh, in which case, what justification is there for following any of the other commandments in the Old Testament? If you consider some of Yahweh's commandments hateful and immoral, then he clearly cannot be a perfect moral being, and the whole concept of the Bible as a reliable source of morality goes out the window (and so does the entire foundation of Judeo-Christianity). On the other hand, if Yahweh doesn't really want homosexuals to be killed, and the Bible is simply lying about it, then the book still cannot be a reliable source of moral truth since it has proven itself incapable of correctly communicating Yahweh's morals.

2) Follow this commandment and promote the murder of homosexual men.

Which is it? Do you believe that the Bible is a reliable source of morals, or do you believe that it is immoral to kill men for having sex with other men?

EDIT: This is my 420th post. Wooooo! Time to smoke a bowl!
