L'International- this one is Classic, front runner for the win
The Red Flag- It has my vote
Proud to Be an Anarchist- it's a good song, an anarchist would probably be able to find something better
Hasta Siempre- It's a good song...
Boondocks- long shot, still I want to see if it gets any votes
Rage against the Machine- they're good, I don't why not
Friends of The Red Army Faction (any song)- They're even registered here
Soviet National Anthem- At least worth puting up...

L'Internationale...in the original French of course. I often sing it in the shower.
Debout, les damnés de la terre
Debout, les forçats de la faim
La raison tonne en son cratère
C'est l'éruption de la fin
Du passé faisons table rase
Foules, esclaves, debout, debout
Le monde va changer de base
Nous ne sommes rien, soyons tout
C'est la lutte finale
Groupons-nous, et demain
L'Internationale
Sera le genre humain
Il n'est pas de sauveurs suprêmes
Ni Dieu, ni César, ni tribun
Producteurs, sauvons-nous nous-mêmes
Décrétons le salut commun
Pour que le voleur rende gorge
Pour tirer l'esprit du cachot
Soufflons nous-mêmes notre forge
Battons le fer quand il est chaud
C'est la lutte finale
Groupons-nous, et demain
L'Internationale
Sera le genre humain
Ouvriers, paysans, nous sommes
Le grand parti des travailleurs
La terre n'appartient qu'aux hommes
L'oisif ira loger ailleurs
Combien, de nos chairs se repaissent
Mais si les corbeaux, les vautours
Un de ces matins disparaissent
Le soleil brillera toujours.
C'est la lutte finale
Groupons-nous, et demain
L'Internationale
Sera le genre humain

I think he meant "we shouldnt base our decisions on nationalism" (probably bad english). A response to the little Irish flag I posted.

No, its not that it was written by an Irish man - I genuinly like that song better - especially the version "INLA roll of honour" as posted above.

The people's flag is deepest red,
It shrouded oft our martyred dead,
And ere their limbs grew stiff and cold,
Their hearts blood dyed its every fold.
Then raise the scarlet standard high. (chorus)
Within its shade we'll live and die,
Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer,
We'll keep the red flag flying here.
Look round, the Frenchman loves its blaze,
The sturdy German chants its praise,
In Moscow's vaults its hymns are sung
Chicago swells the surging throng.
It waved above our infant might,
When all ahead seemed dark as night;
It witnessed many a deed and vow,
We must not change its colour now.
It well recalls the triumphs past,
It gives the hope of peace at last;
The banner bright, the symbol plain,
Of human right and human gain.
It suits today the weak and base,
Whose minds are fixed on pelf and place
To cringe before the rich man's frown,
And haul the sacred emblem down.
With heads uncovered swear we all
To bear it onward till we fall;
Come dungeons dark or gallows grim,
This song shall be our parting hymn.

English lyrics to A Las Barricadas being:
TO THE BARRICADES
Black storms agitate the winds
Dark clouds won't allow us to see
Although we are waiting for pain and death
Against the enemy we are called to go
The most precious good
is liberty
And it must be defended
With courage and faith
Raise the revolutionary flag
Which calls the people to emancipation
March, worker, to the battle
We have to smash the reaction
To the Barricades!
To the Barricades!
For the triumph

Slaafgeboornen,ontwaakt,ontwaakt!
De wereld steunt op nieuwe krachten,

refrein:
Makkers, ten laatste male,
Tot den strijd ons geschaard,
en D'Internationale
Zal morgen heersen op aard.
De staat verdrukt, de wet is logen,
De rijkaard leeft zelfzuchtig voort;
Wij zijn het moe naar andrer wil te leven;
Broeders hoort hoe gelijkheid spreekt:
Geen recht, waar plicht is opgeheven,
Geen plicht, leert zij, waar recht ontbreekt.
refrein:
Makkers, ten laatste male,
Tot den strijd ons geschaard,

Flemmish version
Vooruit, gij werkers van de wereld.
Het eigen lot in eigen hand.
Wij vechten voor de revolutie,
En de tijd staat aan onze kant
Weg met alle krachten die verknechten,
Kameraden, vooruit, vooruit!
zal heersen wereldwijd.

I think the Leftist Anthem is really a personal thing. We all have our own political anthems for our own unique political beliefs. not one person here believes exactly the same beliefs of any other member, and nobodys musical tastes are carbon copies of any others.

Just had a thought, how about a Dropkick Murphys song. 'The workers song' would be OK
Not just OK but anthemic...
Yeh, this one's for the workers who toil night and day
By hand and by brain to earn your pay
Who for centuries long past for no more than your bread
Have bled for your countries and counted your dead
In the factories and mills, in the shipyards and mines
We've often been told to keep up with the times
For our skills are not needed, they've streamlined the job
And with sliderule and stopwatch our pride they have robbed
CHORUS:
We're the first ones to starve, we're the first ones to die
The first ones in line for that pie-in-the-sky
And we're always the last when the cream is shared out
For the worker is working when the fat cat's about
And when the sky darkens and the prospect is war
Who's given a gun and then pushed to the fore
And expected to die for the land of our birth
Though we've never owned one lousy handful of earth?
CHORUS (x3)
All of these things the worker has done
From tilling the fields to carrying the gun
We've been yoked to the plough since time first began
And always expected to carry the can

i know i'll probably get slagged for this, but Anti-Flag's "Got The Numbers" should be there. it's not nearly as suited for an international anthem as some of they others, but it's surely an amazing song, and i find it anthemic.
You push and push a people, what are we to do?
soon this corporate-run government will be through
see, it doesn't represent the people anymore
big buissiness are the pimps, the governments are whores
(chorus)
We don't need more time to talk over a solution
we know what we need,
We need a fucking revolution
we don't need you're war machine
or you're filthy bloodstained dollars
We've got one thing you don't have
we've got, we've got, we've got the numbers
To you the masses arn't even human beings
they're dogs who should be grateful for any scraps you leave
but even dogs will only put up with so much abuse
keep treating us like this and we're gonna let loose
chorus
GOT THE NUMBERS!

The best Leftist national anthem should seriously have gone to the jaw-dropping East German national anthem: Auferstanded aus Ruinen (Risen from the Ruins). Besides an amazing chorus and great chord progressions, it has these lyrics:
All the world now longs for peace,
so go forth and extend your hand.
When as brothers we unite,
we defeat the people's foe.
Let it shine, the light of Peace!
so that no mother again must
Mourn her son,
mourn her son.

But is it really a national anthem?
I would vote for "Auferstanden aus Ruinen" but it is missing from the poll.

Somehow is a bit more "in your bourgeois face" than L'Internationale. "Though cowards flinch and traitors sneer, we'll keep the Red Flag flying here." Oh, yeah, the White Cockade version, not the Tannenbaum version.

no one is mentioning "A las barricadas"? must be one of the most awsome songs in revolutionary history:
http://tcc7.net/mscw5484/A_las_Barricadas.mp3
from wikipedia:
Black storms shake the sky
Dark clouds blind us
Although death and pain await us
Against the enemy we must go
The most precious good
is freedom
And we have to defend it
With courage and faith
Raise the revolutionary flag
Which carries the people to emancipation
Working people march onwards to the battle
We have to smash the reaction (or "reactionaries")
To the Barricades!
To the Barricades!
For the triumph
of the Confederation
The third stanza is sometimes sung instead with the line "Alza la bandera revolucionaria, que del triunfo sin cesar nos lleva en pos" ("Raise the revolutionary flag, which is moving us forward with unstoppable triumph").

Ontwaakt, verworpenen der aarde!
Ontwaakt, verdoemde in hongers sfeer!
Slaafgeboornen,ontwaakt,ontwaakt!
De wereld steunt op nieuwe krachten,
Begeerte heeft ons aangeraakt!
Makkers, ten laatste male,
Tot den strijd ons geschaard,
en D'Internationale
Zal morgen heersen op aard.
De staat verdrukt, de wet is logen,
De rijkaard leeft zelfzuchtig voort;
Tot 't merg wordt d' arme uitgezogen
En zijn recht is een ijdel woord
Wij zijn 't moe naar ander wil te leven;
Broeders hoort hoe gelijkheid spreekt:
Geen recht, waar plicht is opgeheven,
Geen plicht, leert zij, waar recht ontbreekt.
De heerschers door duivelse listen
Bedwelmen ons met bloedigen damp.
Broeders, strijdt niet meer voor andrer twisten,
Breekt de rijen! Hier is uw kamp!
Gij die ons tot helden wilt maken,
O, barbaren, denkt wat ge doet;
Wij hebben waap'nen hen te raken,
Die dorstig schijnen naar ons bloed.

The Style Council - Internationalists
If you believe you have an equal share
In the whole wide world and all it bears
An’ that your share is no less or more than
Your fellow sisters and brother man
Then take this knowledge and with it insist
Declare yourself - an internationalist!
If you lay no blame at the feet of next door
An’ realize this struggle is also yours
An’ that without the strength of us altogether
The world as it stands will remain forever
Then take this challenge and make it exist!
Rise up as - an internationalist!
If your eyes see deeper than the color of skin
Then you must also see we are the same within
An’ the rights you expect are the rights of all
Now it’s up to you to lead the call
That liberty must come at the top of the list
Stand proud as - an internationalist!
If you see the mistake in having bosses at all
You will also see how they all must fall
For under this system there is no such thing
As the democracy our leaders would have us sing
No time for lies now as only truth must persist
Rise up now and declare yourself - an internationalist!

The internationale in Tagalog
Lyrics:
Bangon sa pagkakabusabos
Bangon mga bihag ng gutom
Katwiran ay bulkang sasabog
Buong lakas na magdadagundong
Gapos ng kahapo'y lagutin
Tayong api ay magbalikwas
Tayo ngayo'y inaalipin
Subalit atin ang bukas
Koro:
Ito'y huling paglalaban
Magkaisa nang masaklaw
Ng Internasyunal‚
ang sangkatauhan
Wala tayong maaasahan
Bathala o manunubos
Kaya't ang ating kaligtasa'y
Nasa ating pagkilos
Manggagawa bawiin ang yaman
Kaisipa'y palayain
Ang maso ay ating tanganan
Kinabukasa'y pandayin
(Balik koro 2x)
Manggagawa at magsasaka
Ating Partido'y dakila
Palayasin ang mga gahaman
Sa anakpawis ang daigdigan
Wakasan pagsasamantala
Ng mga bwitre at uwak
Sa umagang sila'y maglaho
Mapulang araw sisikat

Solidaritätslied ("Solidarity Song"; music by Eisler, words by Brecht) is an outstanding revolutionary song. A performance of it by Ernst Busch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7RbCaH9Tx84)
is available.
Peoples of the world, together
Join to serve the common cause!
So it feeds us all for ever
See to it that it’s now yours.
Forward, without forgetting
Where our strength can be seen now to be!
When starving or when eating
Forward, not forgetting
Our solidarity!
Black or white or brown or yellow
Leave your old disputes behind,
Once start talking with your fellow
Men, you’ll soon be of one mind.
If we want to make this certain
We’ll need you and your support.
It’s yourselves you’ll be deserting
If you rat on your own sort.
All the gang of those who rule us
Hope our quarrels never stop
Helping them to split and fool us
So they can remain on top.
Workers of the world, uniting
That’s the way to lose your chains.
Mighty regiments now are fighting
That no tyranny remains!
Forward, without forgetting
Till the concrete question is hurled
When starving or when eating
Whose tomorrow is tomorrow?
And whose world is the world?
Der rote Wedding (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDmPHHEkXCs) (music: Eisler, words: Weinert) is another noteworthy revolutionary song.
Left, left, left, left,
the drums are beating.
Left, left, left, left,
the working class is marching.
We're not asking about your party
only that you're honestly in the fight
against injustice and reaction.
We are through poverty, through hunger united.
What binds us are the victims in the fight before the enemy,
and our songs of revolution.
Red Wedding greets you as comrades:
be ready with your fists!
Keep the red ranks close together:
our day is coming soon.
We're fighting as socialists,
finally in one front,
brothers of labor, Communists,
Red Front, Red Front!
Left, left, left, left,
the fight will lead us further on.
Left, left, left, left,
the one who surrenders is a scab.
We carry the truth from house to house
and throw the lies out the back door
as Karl Marx and Lenin taught us to do.
And though the enemy strikes our best ones dead,
Wedding comes back and Berlin stays red,
so that Germany belongs to the Germans.

Internationale has my vote. Just because it was written before the Anarchist/Marxist split in the first international, and the lyrics are therefore not specific to any single leftist ideology.
Also, it's been translated into virtually every language so everyone can sing it.
I like the traditional version best, as sung by that scottish bloke. Can't remember his name.
"arise ye workers from your slumber, arise ye prisoners of want!" - That version is better.
I can't stand the other one, the "internationale unites the world in song" version. sounds too soft, like we're-only-singing-about-revolution-we-only-really-wanna-wave-placards-and-sing-then-go-home.
That's my two pence :)
