Lenin's Law

Although I'm not an all-out defender of Castro, I am often confronted by bourgeois liberals about the supposed "crimes" of the Cuban Revolution. One such case that was brought to my attention was that of Huber Matos, the liberals claim that he was hero of the revolution (he was a major) who was later on jailed by Castro for wanting to resign and for being against "communism"; he favored a bourgeois democratic regime based on the US and other countries. He apparently has written a book about his experiences and is a big hit with the New York Times-crowd.

I have been trying to locate information on this person to find out exactly what were the reasons for his punishment but almost all of the English sources I have found were anti-Castro/revolutionary and thus have pretty much said the same thing about liberal dissident being repressed by bad commies, yada yada yada...

So my question is, for anyone that may have more information on his person or know of English-sources of information for this person, that could give a counter-argument to the "mainstream" bourgeois interpretations of this man and the situation surrounding him. I know CdL if he is reading this would be very helpful as I know he is very knowledgeable on the Cuban Revolution.

resigning wasnt the problem, other people were resigning at the time, but were not jailed. Matos, from what I've read, was not just simply resigning, but consipring against the government, together with somebody of whom i dotn remember the name. Also he was using funds to promote anti Fidel thinking, through newspapers

(he was a major)

In other words, a Comandante.

Well the Cuban government says that Matos was conspiring against the government but Matos denied this and says he simply wanted to resign. Don't have enough information to make a final conclusion, it is obvious that BOTH parties have reason to lie.
