among many sick things, and how they try their hardest to add their fucked up twist to things.
I was watching the CNN Espaņol Interview of Hugo Chavez. and the reporter asked him something along the lines of; "isn't you presidency a dictatorship dressed as a democracy?"
I think Chavez asked her why she feels that way or what she bases that on and she said something along the lines of;
"your opposition does not think is a good idea that your presidency's national assembly is filled with only chavistas" to govern the country, why not try to hear those opions and take them into consideration?
Chavez goes on to say that he believes that's not true! "our national assembly has different people not just chavistas"
The CNN then stresses; "BUT THEY ALL SUPPORT YOU" (in a sort of sarcastic tone)
Chavez looks at her sort of strange and says... "well of course! they support the government and the path that we want venezuela to go in, they support the revolution and our path towards socialism" Then he points out how during his presidency the national assembly has not physically faught the opposition and vise verse, like in years passed, in passed governments an he also makes some other key arguments.
The reported then told Chavez; "maybe you guys dont beat each other up no more. but a President is not supposed to have all this power to himself. there should be split decisions amongst the government, the opposition members of congress and the people for it to be a true democracy, however you have centralized everything into your hands and you get to pick and appoint who you want in as heads of different branches of your government, etc. etc.
"you only pick those who you feel will be loyal to your version of government, isn't that pretty much a dictatorship?" she adds.
Chavez goes.. Not at all! where do you get this stuff from? that I appoint the Public Prosecutor? The the controllers and my supreme court chiefs??"
CNN then tell him very surpriced... "But Mr. President, the day they took their oath they were wearing their robes and were cheering and shouting "UH-AH- CHAVEZ NO SE VA!" (chavez won't go!)
When? Where? who told you this lies? says chavez all confused
CNN Reporter: I read it! and plus someone told me too..
Be-careful what you read!! he tells the CNN reporter (while he is laughing)
____
Chavez then clears up the whole thing to her..
Here's my observation and my question..
Why is it so hard to believe that MAYBE a President actually has support from most of his government?
Or that more than half of the country supports him and his plans?
Why can't government officials cheer, sing and rout for their commender in chief?
Why must they twist EVERYTHING to make this guy seem like some sort of crazed evil dictator?
How many times are they going to ask him if he is a dictator, or trying to make him seem as that and an evil communist trying to imitate Fidel Castro?
To many, Chavez seems like a radical! he is a threat to democracy, and a destabilizer of the region and so on... I know why this things are said, and who is saying them. because he is "not following orders" and not playing by the imperialist rules. and since they own the Media, there for control the entire brainwashing machine to the peoples brains.
---wow! im glad i see beyond all this bullshit now.
