Where can I find websites and sources analyzing the Vietnam War from a lefty point of view? I'm looking for documents, pamphlets, books and websites that analyze American intervention in Vietnam from a leftist point of view. Specifically I'm looking for sources that analyze the plicy of containment and American foreign policy. Are there any works that examine the racial and economic implications of containment policy?

The American War: The U.S. in Vietnam (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LctoUV-tag) is a 40 min YouTube video that is a introduction to the Vietnam from a leftist point of view, it takes about 2 mins before it actually gets down to talking about Vietnam.

Another interesting perspective on the Vietnam conflict would be the Hmong perspective. I've never came across anything on it in print, but you might want to keep your eyes open for something.

Perhaps try Zinn's works?

The Hmong were mainly active in the Laos civil war as opposed to the Vietnamese conflict.

I was just told that Zinn has no qualifications, government experience or anything. But he teaches at Boston University. Oh and A peoples History has a great chapter on vietnam,

You're looking for a non-historian, leftist government perspective?
Oh and A peoples History has a great chapter on vietnam,
He has written articles and books on the subject as well.

That is an excellent movie, I just watched it. Starts out like a little kid movie, but it's surprisingly informative.

lefty pov or not, bottomline the vietnam war began with a lie and was a horrible mistake. the fog of war's robert s. macnamara (far from a leftist) delves into the subject as he was the sec. of defense at the time...

George Katsiaficas edited a Vietnam War source book. You can find it on Amazon.
