so I was browsin at the local video store and saw a cover with big red letters saying 'REVOLUTION' and havin robopigs all over the front, so I decided to pick it up. Wasnt half bad actually, kind two sided as far as the view of politics go and was produced by Guerilla news?!?! which surprised me. Anyone else heard of this? If so what'd you think?

Yeah I'm familiar with this movie. I found it to be ridiculous. It was produced by Universal so I really should have known. I found it to be very patronizing of the left (anarchists in particular). The actual event the movie circulates around, the RNC protest, really should have gotten more attention. Instead, they would just show snippets of protest footage, and groups of anarchists, made out to look very silly, since you really don't get to hear what it is they were out there for, (they just wanted to show cool looking kids in gas masks). However, the movie did touch on one thing, albeit inadvertently. Whenever you see someone filming at a protest, it is very likely that they are working for the pigs. In the US the govt. has really strengthened its repressive apparatus for dealing with our sorts, and have been compiling a data base of all sorts of people, included ones spotted at protests. I'm confused as to why the govt is taking all these measures though, because as of yet, they haven't faced any significant challenge from the people, in spite of all the monstrous policies, and capitalisms ever increasingly visible malevolence. But none of this has to do with the movie; in short don't see it. If you are interested in seeing a good movie about a protest, google: “Breaking the Spell.” It’s about the role of anarchists from Eugene during the WTO protest in Seattle (It was almost 9 years ago! Shit, we need to have a repeat of that, no?)
