Rudy is now officially running in '08, for those who didn't know! Think he's a winner?

Fawkes
7th February 2007, 02:23
Woopdy fricken doo. I could honestly care less if he wins or not.

Jude
7th February 2007, 02:26
Why don't you care who wins?

And I hate to nitpick, but if you could care less, then technically you care...

Fawkes

'Cause it really doesn't make that much of a difference at all if a Rep. or Dem. is elected because they are pretty much the same thing.

its true, we live in a country of moderates. Republicans and Democrats all represent the same war party that will take your taxes and use them to perpetuate the capitalist ideology that makes our lives miserable...

and neither of them will legalize weed. :(

Looking past the party, do you think he is a good candidate?

Fawkes

No, he is a capitalist.

Fuck all the candidates, they all suck.

They are all republocratic capitalists! OK, now look at the candidate and stop stating the obvious!

Fawkes

It doesn't matter, he won't win the primary anyway. He is pro-choice and pro-stem cell research meaning he'll never win anyway. I don't like Giuliani for a variety of reasons ranging from his city-wide graffiti clean up movement to his support of the NYPD murder of Amadou Diallo.

I don't know, a lot of older people like him...

There's a good chance he'll be the next president, which is actually a scary thought.

If he's elected, it'll be as "America's Mayor," a hard right "patriot", "crime fighter" and "anti-terrorist".

He'll come in with a wave of reactionary nationalism and increased attacks on working people in the U.S., and new "wars against terror."

He ran New York City like a police state, even before 9/11. If he's elected, look for an increased loss of the few remaining democratic rights in the U.S.

At the same time, none of this means we should rally behind any Democrat in the name of "fighting fascism," as the fake "Communist" Party - USA has been doing in every election for years.

If by "Rudy" you mean "Joey Jordison", then I would totally support that.

Guerrilla22
7th February 2007, 05:30
No, the guy is a complete asshole. His political career pretty much seemed finished up untill 9/11 happened (he withdrew from the senate race against Hillary Clinton due to an affair scandal) because he was highly unpopular up untill 9/11.

Janus
7th February 2007, 05:53
He has some progressive views on stem cell research and same sex marriages but it's quite possible that he'll turn out to be more of a hawk than Bush. So he may be socially progressive in certain aspects but definitely not politically or economically so.

Hope not, fear yes.

Nothing good is going to come out from any of the two State parties in the United States.

"Rudy" is how we call buddies, co-workers, and cousins. This man is Mr. Giuliani.

Like others mentioned, this stupid fuck actually has a good chance of winning the election
The other characters running are either too "extreme" or "unorthodox" for voter's tastes

I think that voters will be looking for the moderate and reliable candidate, so it seems that tha Dems are in trouble
If I was a betting man, I'd put my money on Giulianni or McCain

Would you simply get past the characteristics of ever candidate?
Why the fuck for?
All candidates are the same, none of them deserve our consideration

The first characteristic to be noted on Rudolph Giuliani is:

- he is a member of the Republican Party.

If he did not agree with the policies of the Republican Party, he would not be a member of the Republican party; but he is a member of the Republican Party, so he agrees with the policies of the Republican Party. In the unprobable case that he is a member of the Republican Party, but does not agree with the policies of the Republican Party, the other members of the Republican Party, who do agree with the Republican Party policies, won't allow him to be the Republican Party candidate. Unless he changes his views and start agreeing with the Republican Party policies. In the unprobable case that he doesn't agree with the Republican Party policies, but still manages to get endorsed as the Republican candidate by the other members of the Republican Party, who, for their turn, agree with the policies of the Republican Party, he won't win the elections, for the people who usually vote for Republican Party candidates, because they believe the Republican Party policies are more suitable for the country won't vote for a Republican candidate who does not agree with the policies of the Republican Party, nor will the people who usually do not vote for Republican candidates vote for a Republican candidate.

Did I mention the "Republican Party" enough times on this post, or do I need to repeat, "Republican Party" some times more?

Pick my above post about Giuliani, replace "Giuliani" with "Obama", "Rudolph" with "Barak", and "Republican" with "Democratic".

Should be equally effective.

Do you honestly think he will make any difference, and be any less despotic then all the other capitalists? Bourgeoisie elections are pointless, and should be avoided by revolutionaries, for they do nothing, and much better effort should be spent, on other activities, like revolution perhaps?

Fawkes
7th February 2007, 16:08
He supports same-sex civil unions, stem cell research, and gun control, he won't get elected as a Republican.

On a side note, has anyone ever heard the song "Who Shot Rudy?" ?

Jude

No

CS, I completely disagree. Although it may not be as effective as other methods of revolution, it is a possible weapon under ideal circumstances

Running in the US elections is not as effective as 'other methods of revolution', because it ISNT a method of revolution. It is completely reformist ('rudy' ffs!), the opposite of revolutionary method by definition.

Foxhole Romeo

How is running in the US elections a 'weapon'? A weapon of what exactly? Wielded by whom? For whom?

And what do you mean by 'ideal circumstances'? Do we have those now? How can work towards these 'circumstances'? Promoting capitalist political parties?

And why do you have lyrics about sexual violence in your signature?

"Who Shot Rudy" - Screwball

Yeah, Screwball shit, yeah-yeah-yeah, Keron yo
Little something for that snake ass, slimy ass, devil ass
motherfucker out there. Listen to this and suck on it *****
Knaw'mean? Screwball shit, what, what, yeah
check-check-check-check it out, yo

Ay-yo Who shot Rudy? in broad daylight for cash
I woke up this morning and hear the newsflash
They said it happened down at City Hall
He had his wife with'im, 5 shots from the crowd made him fall
It was chaos and pandomonium blood covered up the podium
Covered his face, and wouldn't show me him
I had to see if it was true
Secret service was mad nervous, so was the boys in blue
Scatterin, like rats and ants, with the lights on
Man hunt the suspect all night long
Interupted episodes, every channel show
Barracaded the city and blocked every road
Jakes in riot gear, blacks smilin it is
Reporters cryin out in the street, ?"It ain't Rudy!"?
He ain't dead off, somebody blew his head off and skated out
Commisioner live on channel 5 when they announced his death
Wifey was stressed, she was right there
She stated: it was like a nightmare
One-time, was combing the streets, had the whole force on the beat
Flyin in cars and on feet
The D's came through stompin
Ghetto birds had the projects lookin like Compton with marksmen
With dirty thirties out the window
I'm in my room smokin boom, playin Nintendo, high off the indo
Who shot Rudy?

From courthouse to your house
Rich house to poor house
QB to Shaolin, Brooklyn Long Island
BX to Money Makin', YO and New Ro
The news final, yo, who shot Rudy?

They speculated it was mob related
Every wise guy with mafia ties, interrogated for lies
Every king and yeta, had the linguistics
Snatchin they gats for ballistics and expert statistics
were drawn out, gang unit was all worn out
Investigatin his body and everybody else
Whoever gave threats, made bets or wages
Cash donators from the campaign stages
Cab drivers and frank vendors who protested
Were roughed up like Abner, gettin broom molested
Sharp lawyer suit-breasted, double-breasted reporters
Was mobbin daughters and other mourners
Pushin cameras away, blockin the sights
Had the riot squad at Washington Heights
Kennedy Airport, stoppin flights, niggaz was tight
Cause the couldn't sell a dime all night, but that was alright
The devil died and nobody cried
They was real like some Jews celebratin when the pharaohe got killed
Glasses of Henny were spilled and we got twisted
Smokin blunts on the corner like we used to cause we lived it
Knowin he was gone for good ???, it got me thinkin
Ay-yo, where the fuck Dinkens?
And Harlem World, Shaolin to Brownsville
Did Sharpton and Farrakhan make the shit real?
Was it Khalel? you know he keep mad steel
Did the Bloods or the Crips smoke Rudy on the hill

From courthouse to your house
Rich house to poor house
QB to Shaolin, Brooklyn Long Island

It makes total sense. It's talking about what would happen if Rudy was shot, something that Screwball obviously would not mind happening.

Anyway, I think the entire community of RevLeft agrees that Rudy sucks, as do all the Presidential candidates.

Is this a joke that on a leftist board we would have pseudo leftist endorsing Rudy Giuliani. Who's policy of police targeting of black and Hispanic during his time in office led to the death Amadou Diallo and Patrick Dorismond. This scumbag even went as far as to try and vilified Dorismond by releasing his juvenile police record to the press.

He supports same-sex civil unions, stem cell research, and gun control, he won't get elected as a Republican.
That's actually a big possibility though he certainly the most favorite Republican at the moment. So it remains to be seen whether enough Republicans will want a more conservative rep. or whether or not they really want to win.
