SDS action in DC

So there is a thread on libcom.org about the anti war protest in DC over the weekend.

Seems kind of interesting, just wondering if anyone was there. Nice to see body sheld making a return to north american actions fter a few years of absence.

I was at the protest, and marched with the SDS bloc. Unfortunately, at one point I got separated from them, and this was the point where they rushed the capitol the first time. Later on, as I was walking around the capitol property, taking pictures of the barricades and warnings posted all over the police, I saw a bunch of cops rushing to the front of the building, and got an extremely close view of what happened.

I heard that there were several hundred SDS members at the march. If that's the case, then it definitely seems that SDS has been revived again.

They are definitely back, although they definitely are a shell of their former self, during the sxities and seventies their membership was in the tens of thousands nation wide.

I was there but missed SDS because I got there late. I heard they marched to the capitol and held it for a while.

I don't know about actually holding it but they definitely engaged the police in a standoff and were left quite a bit of graffiti after their departure.
