View Full Version : How to avoid boredom?

The thing about boredom, is that is suffered the most by boring people. People are boring because they oppress themselves. The stop themselves from developing their interests, there are exceptions, disability, insomnia, and being in prison, or working in a shitty tiring, job most of the day.
The thing is that economic oppression stops some development, though money can screw up your whole life if all you want is bigger and better things.

Reading is good. writing is good. Getting yourself an education, but it can be too one sided, unless you are an aspiring poet.
However, because sport is social mostly. Try chess. The internet chess club is cheap, there are even chat options.

The better option is music, learn an instrument, the penny whistle is one of the cheapest. Learn a song, teach yourself how to sing bring it right up from the diaphragm.

Seek out groups, that offer free things, poetry readings etc. How about volunteering to give out soup to the homeless. You get to meet people.

If you can find nothing that interests you, nothing that you can dedicate yourself too, consider that you might be suffering from depression. Research serotonin, eat chocolate. Watch comedies. try to see the funny side of things, try to fall in love with life again.

Then again, a living death might be easier, it requires no thought just impulsive reactions. Try computer games. Pinball is free on pcs, and I got one for my mac when I had one.
Is the life of a troll really satisfying? What gives you the most kicks?
I find most of the posts truly pathetic, you spend more time with your loved ones, thinking of things you can do together, things that you can learn to please them.

I d rather be an alchoholic than a troll.

You seem to think that being a capitalist requires being an unfeeling, work-a-holic automaton who is so stressed out by the need to "keep up with the Jonses" that they literally drive themselves insane.

This is no different than the capitalist stereotype of the typical communist being a spoiled, drug-addicted teenaged or college-aged kid who is communist primarily to anger his parents or get chicks.

In other words, the usual cop-out that says if you disagree with me you must be insane or have problems. The fact is, most of us on both sides are quality people who simply have very different ideas about how life ought to work.

I assure you, I suffer from none of the problems you list in your post nor do I lack for hobbies or family time.

you said you you didnt need her,
you told her goodbye,
you sacrificed a good love,
you wish that you still had her,
you let her walk away,
and it just don't feel the same,
gotta blame it on something,
Blame it on the rain,
it was falling falling,
blame it on the stars that shine at night,
whatever you do don't put the blame on you,
you can blame it on the rain,
blame it on the rain, yeah yeah,
gotta blame it something,
gotta blame it on something,
blame it on the rain yeah, yeah.

Insane? Do I question your sanity, is depression insane. I dont make negative remarks on someones mental health.
I am not saying that your problems undermine your opinion. You have the perfect right to say what you like with all the respect that is due to your attempt to voice them.

from wiki, ''In Internet terminology, a troll is a person who enters an established community such as an online discussion forum and intentionally tries to cause disruption, often in the form of posting messages that are inflammatory, insulting, incorrect, inaccurate, or off-topic, with the intent of provoking a reaction from others."

If you think you do not have problems you are being completely dishonest with yourself.

does participating in honest debate count as disruption?

Participation in honest debate is indeed welcome but this forum has to be treated in the context we all live in. This website included. The fact is that people patrol the net finding places to ANNOY other people.

This basic fundamental principle of intentionally annoying other people is dishonesty.

How can one have an honest debate with people who are dishonest through and through, heart and soul.

All one waits for is the next lie.
Another twist in the bourgeois garbage we hear daily.

Right on! Life is crap without something fun! You have to worry about bills, about food, about some football team that never fucking wins, about human relationships and all the things that really don't matter when you've got a sincere and truthful drug habit.

I hope not.

About half of you guys troll. Half don't. I like seeing debates, making sure I'm right before doing anything. Apparently some members think otherwise.

Is the life of a troll really satisfying?

Are you seriously wondering about this? Maybe you need to rethink the inner workings of your life.

What gives you the most kicks?

I'd imagine that posts like this do.

I find most of the posts truly pathetic, you spend more time with your loved ones, thinking of things you can do together, things that you can learn to please them.

I d rather be an alchoholic than a troll.

Well to play devil's advocate for a moment, while the troll can spend twenty seconds or so typing a meaningless post, you reply with a very long winded heart felt complaint. While you were doing this the troll was spending time with their family etc..
