hmm, this isn't really a worker action, but I figured this would be the best place to put it.(feel free to change to a better place)

Greek universities are paralyzed. More than half of faculties nation wide (Universities and Colleges) are occupied by the students who refuse the privatization of Greek education system .Every day General Assemblies are organized and new faculties are added to the list. At side of the students we find also the university lecturer, primary and secondary education teachers and several trade-unions.

I don't think anyone died, it's not mentioned anywhere.
Anyway, last summer there were heavy protests and occupations as well.
My brother went there and told me the walls were covered in anarchist and communist grafiti.

Bullcrap  , indymedia.nl is anarcho dominated and lacks in content compared to .be, .be published "Media Activism" with EPO, .be rox
Though i'm not saying .nl is crap, .nl rox also, just a bit less ;)
But indymedia.nl often does have an anti-communist policy (here (http://www.indymedia.nl/nl/2006/10/39848ruis.shtml)), if we try to post an article about the petition against the ban of the KSM in the Czech Republic, they go of claiming we are supporters of the prague spring and move our article to the trashcan, although after a long discussion we got justice. Likewise on other newsposts by us concering cuba solidarity, often due to critizism totally unrelated . Alot of people there are full of bullshit bourgeois rethoric.

This is very exciting, reminds me of France during 1968!!
I'm not very knowledgeable of the situation in Greece, can some one tell me if there is a greater communist or anarchist presence there? I really hope this develops into something greater...do I hear GENERAL STRIKE?

Sure it is..
From your own post: At side of the students we find also the university lecturer, primary and secondary education teachers and several trade-unions.
Besides that, many (most?) of the students at the state universities are working class.

Anarchists Riot Outside Solidarity Occupation of Polytechnic University
(January 17, 2007)
National marches were organised by many student associations in Athens and Thessaloniki, where more than 270 faculties are occupied by students, protesting against the revision of the constitutional article 16, introducing the establishment of private universities. Mainly however, the occupations are undertaken as subordination of academic stupidity to enterprising and economic planning, as well as the intensification of student subjugation through more demanding schedules, imposition of maximum times for studies, additional academic expenses, etc.
The march in Athens, began around 14:00, with the attendance of more than 15,000 demonstrators. A bit earlier there was an attack with Molotov Cocktails [firebombs] against riot-policemen who blockaded some streets around the techical university, while in the morning a CCTV [surveillance] camera was set on fire outside the technical university. Reaching to the march's ending some groups of demonstrators burned five government and diplomatic vehicles, two CCTV cameras, and clashed with the police. Later in the afternoon, many demonstrators went to the techical university, which is occupied by anarchist groups in solidarity with the three detainees of May 6th. The cops tried to attack the occupied building but were forced to recede, while two to three riot policemen caught on fire!
In Thessaloniki, after a call from student associations at the techical university, more than 3,000 persons marched at 18:00 towards the Ministry of Macedonia and Thrace. Groups of demonstrators broke in and set fire to the commercial bank near the ministry, a subsidiary of Piraeus bank, and a McDonalds, as well as two CCTV cameras. There were also conflicts between cops and demonstrators by the university area, when the police tried to attack the demo. No arrest were made anyway.

The anarchists, who did not block senior municipal officials from reaching their offices, ended their protest action at around midday.

Anarchists Riot in Athens
(January 13, 2007)
Anarchists threw more than 60 Molotov cocktails (firebombs) as well as rocks and pieces of wood at riot police in Exarchia, central Athens, on the night of January 13, as officers responded with tear gas. The group of some 80 anarchists attacked the police at about 11 p.m. after spending the earlier part of the day demonstrating in support of three other anarchists who are staging a hunger strike in custody. Police did not make any arrests after the clashes in Exarchia.
A storefront and the entrance to an apartment block in Exarchia were damaged as a result of the clashes but no injuries were reported. Police said the group of assailants consisted of the same people who had earlier ridden their motorcycles en masse to the hospital in Nikaia, southwest Athens, where those anarchists staging a hunger strike are being kept. Officers prevented the people from entering the hospital and later detained 46 suspects but released them after questioning.

Anarchists Attack Cops at Prison in Athens
(December 31, 2006)
Dozens of hooded anarchist motorcyclists threw smoke bombs and fireworks at police officers outside Korydallos Prison in Athens, shortly before midnight on New Year's Eve, police reported to the corporate media. One of the assailants was arrested and nine others detained after police gave chase. The group of anarchists also threw leaflets demanding the release of hunger-striking anarchist prisoners held at the prison. The nine suspects who were detained were released later.

Why is Greece so much cooler than America? From what I know, they have such a strong anarchist presence there as opposed to anywhere else. Does anyone know how strong of a presence the fascists have there?

Communists an Anarchists are widely represented in Greece, their communist party (KKE (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KKE)) is also one of the oldest and strongest in europe, they even have a public T.V station. Greece had been under a fascistoide mililtairy junta in the 70's and due alot of resistance and a strong left it collapsed, but just like in spain and in portugal in ended up being a bourgeois democracy. Besides the KKE their alot of minor left parties, including maoist, hoxaists, trots, anarchist movements ect. Their are also alot of clercial fascists and neo-fascists movement present in Greece, but in a minority. One of the largest neo-nazi movements, although puiny compared to the KKE, is the Patriotic Alliance (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriotic_Alliance)
It is in light of these events why that action is worthless.
Indeed, it was a major distraction and a possible cause for deteriation of support for the student rallies, concidering that they where organized by the left. We can all agree that urban guerilla only works with mass support and not by induvidualist action, like we seen with RAFish movements (except the RAANies  )
