BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- The Pentagon is investigating whether a recent attack on a military compound in Karbala was carried out by Iranians or Iranian-trained operatives, two officials from separate U.S. government agencies said.
"People are looking at it seriously," one of the officials said.
That official added the Iranian connection was a leading theory in the investigation into the January 20 attack that killed five soldiers.
The second official said: "We believe it's possible the executors of the attack were Iranian or Iranian-trained."
Seems to me like the Bush Administration is gearing up the propaganda machine so as to justify action against Iran.

Seems to me like the Bush Administration is gearing up the propaganda machine so as to justify action against Iran.
That's all it is, we saw this same kind of crap back in 2002 when they were gearing up for war with Iraq.

The funny thing is, the U.S. does this type of thing all the time. Sending in U.S. trained agents to assassinate enemies of America. God, this country's fuckin' pathetic.

Well, this recent propaganda definitely shows that the Bush regime is more than ready to bomb Iran. However, unless Bush truly is the dumbest fucking human being alive, I doubt he will launch a full-scale invasion. The US would be crushed to a thousand pieces by the Iranian army, a massive national liberation struggle, and domestic dissent. I think it is more likely that either the US or Israel will bomb some key targets in Iran. A full-scale war would be suicide. But then again, Bush probably is the dumbest human being alive.

Don't underestimate his or his advisor's intelligence just because they're assholes. I find it odd that the U.S. pays more attention to Iran, who they think may be developing nukes, than to DPRK, who we know has nukes. I don't know if Israel would risk such a thing because they would than be attacked by Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah/Hamas simultaneously, which would be very hard to fend off.

My greatest fear is that Bush and the neocons are hell bent on their war goals come hell or high water. The plan for world domination might include excluding all oppositional thought from reaching their agenda. US imperialism must expand or contract. The delusion of expansionism based on military might was both entertained by Napoleon and Hitler, both would play on with phantom armies.
If sense had anything to do with it, I would sleep more easily.Impeach Bush for the sake of the world's sanity.http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/
