Hello fellow comrades, it's good to be here...where the 'thought Police' (just watched 1984, again) will not correct me for... yes, thinking!
Who are the modern 'thought Police' you may ask? Everywhere you look and hear, from the mainstream media, to your peer group and in your local town centre...we're part of and witnesssing a New and evil World Order! Ah, that's better.

I've not had a great deal of time to discover the wonderful 'nooks & crannies' of this site, but I'm looking forward to venting my political and philosophical frustrations within it and to learn the vast amount of literature and good work that fellow comrades are doing every day around the world. In fact, it makes me feel lazy, because I really want to start doing some activist work...it gives me a buzz annoying ordinary folk with my rants that i wish I could do it for a living.

I live on the East coast of Yorkshire which is called "white Island" apparently. Funny thing is, it's not an actual island, but the Nazis, their sympathisers in East & W Yorkshire (UK) all seem to congregate here. The other issue is (ironically) that they're so apathetic and lifeless at the same time that it beggars belief...anyway, you get the picture folks.

I was introduced to Marxism whilst in Uni. at St Andrews and eventually became an active member of the Marxist Society and was daring enough to try and sell a Socialist Appeal to Prince William and his clique...they just looked at me with disbelief! :P Ah fun times, but needing to get active again and submerse my head into some Dialectical materialism...with fellow comrades.

OK, so ice-broken.

Get the fuck out.

Nah just kidding, welcome to the forums man. Great first post!! Although I have to say, while I wasn't overly impressed with 1984 the book, the movie was just awful!! It makes a good point though.

Anyway, welcome once again!!

Ah funny man, Like it...! What a basis for militancy and revolution, let's have some agro! I enjoyed the way 1984 made the BB environment always look bleak and dark, and freedom look colourful. Perhaps Orwell was trying to tell the reader something else beyond BB...yes, "buy the book and go and watch the film or BB is coming to get you". That's it!

Cheers
