The only thing I'm concerned about is the guy not teaching the class. The students did not hire him, they are not oppressors. There's no reason to not just teach the class if you say you will.

Have any of you taken a class taught by an openly gay man? I took several by the same guy---Basic math and Algebra type classes which I always had trouble with until I took the classes by this professor. He was an excellent instructor and I passed all the classes I took with him (3 in all) with aces. He was very professional and a gentleman.
