This scares me, incording to the artitcle

Thousands of police forces in the US have recently grabbed some 380,000 pieces of discounted military kit.

Some snapped up night vision goggles, while others asked for combat fatigues to help hunt drug dealers.

About 16,000 US departments obtained equipment during 2005, worth some $124m (£63m), the Associated Press found.

The news agency asked the US Department of Defense to release an analysis of each state's second-hand trading during the 2005 financial year.

Well, why not sell this to Citizens...er Subjects? of course not, that just make them have a advantage against their opressors even though "guns are legal" in America but it has been subverted to make the general populace weak (guns that are only made for hunting and even automatic weapons are gutted out to make them semi automatic for subjective purposes) thus easier for the Military/Police/National Guard to control them with superior firepower/resources/equipment which is similar to countries whose subjects are not allowed to have weapons at all for the same reasons as described above....This is one of the major tatics to prevent the Government from getting overthrown by the hands of the people and replacing it with a better and more humane system....

thoughts?

The police are already highly militarized.

It's a military surplus sale by the Army. The only thing that's gonna change is that the police forces are gonna get their supplies at a cheaper price this time.

There are some military surplus stores in the US but they don't sell heavy weapons, etc.
