Anyone know of any good torrent sites that have independent, underground music access? I'm looking mostly for folk-punk stuff, but just anything besides the Pirate Bay would be fine.

I'm new to the whole torrent thing, so yeah.

I don't know if they have what you are looking for but you can try.

Google torrent spy and theres a couple sites that will search all torrent sites. You might want to check out Isohunt. For underground music I wouldn't even go with torrents though, i use soulseek. You can get pretty much anything on that program. ;)

for a while I swore by isohunt.com but since it got shut down (its now back up) about a week ago, I had time to search for an alternative which led me to mininova.org, much better in my opinion. If you want harder to find torrents id use oink.me.uk although you have to get an invite to use that site. (I got banned for letting others use my account so dont bother asking me for one, sorry)

Every good torrent site I know for indie music is an invite only type of deal, and those invites can sometimes be hard to come by. Oink and Indie Torrents are two good examples of this.

Besides that, Isohunt is pretty good, though you won't get super obscure music with it. Isohunt is usually worth a shot, you can sometimes be surprized.

Oink is great, except your seeded torrents rarely upload anything, meaning keeping a ratio is hard.

I suggest Demonoid.com, except they may not have alot of what you seek.

Yep. About the only way to keep a good ratio without uploading a lot is to download new leaks as soon as they come up.

In my experience, Demonoid isn't much better than Isohunt, MiniNova, and those sites.

Torrent sites are sites where one searches for .torrent files, for use with the bittorrent decentrilised P2P network. You search for the files you want on a torrent site, download the torrent, then use a bittorrent client, such as Azureus or Bitcomet, to download the file from others running the torrent on their computers.

This is a forum, not a blog. Very, very different.
