The Black Panthers succesfully overthrew police brutality in Oakland by open displaying firearms in public while technically breaking no laws so the police had to stand down.
So I was wondering... What are the Laws regarding public display of firearms in New York City? Are you able to walk around in the streets with hunting rifles if the weapons are unconcealed and displayed nonthreatingly? Also whats the NYC laws for puchasing and owning hunting rifles and shotguns?

does it really matter now, even if you walked around like the terminator, your still one lone leftist, what the black pathers did was basically show defiance to police, while protecting themselves, they had a large backing, while you will just look like an other NRA crackpot...

I assume he's talking about a group of leftists walking around with guns. Sorry, I don't know the gun laws in NYC.

I'm pretty sure that New York has banned the open carry of firearms.

New York City in particular has some of the strictest gun laws in the country; no doubt due to the amount of violent crimes that occurs in the city.

No, but some cities and states restrict the possession and sale of airsoft and BB guns. New York City is one of those places.

That makes no sense. If the gun laws were strict to prevent violence.. and New York has a high number of violent crimes.. what does that tell you about the gun laws? Not working to well, huh?

They're not about "preventing violent crime" anymore than the NYPD's policy of random stop & searches on the subways is about "preventing terrorism."

New York City may have the largest number of violent crimes each year but it's actually one of the safest cities in the US in terms of its crime ratio. Obviously, it's not all because of gun control laws as there are many other factors involved.
