I play bass, namely an Ibanez down-make which is quality, was wondering if anyone wanted to share knowledge/ talk about other instruments.
Harmonics on bass are pretty amazing - Jaco Pastorius - Portrait Of Tracy (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25DXcFg1TFo)
And yes I do remember I said I'd never post in music again but meh...

I play an Epiphone Les Paul (Gibson knock-off, pretty good though, I like it), harmonica, and keyboard in my one-man band called Jacob and Jacob's *****es (Who Like It Up Da Ass and Say Roar)/Spine Hickey. I must say, it's pretty nifty.
Anyway, my main focus is guitar. I'm not great, but getting better all the time. Been playing for a few years now, only over the past seven or so months have I taken a passion in it though. My current amp is a Line6 SpiderIII 30w. It's alright for a practice amp. Here's my current set-up:

Acoustic guitar, electric guitar (not very well!), bass guitar, can hold a beat on drums, and I mess around with a didgeridoo. :)

I play a Spector Euro rebop 4. The most expensive thing I've ever bought. I dropped most of the money I made during the summer on that bass. I've also got an Ashdown Electric Blue 180. It's about 150 watts, but some gigs I've wished I had more.

Epiphone acoustic, but I am holding out for a Fender electric later. Does anyone know of great songs where the lead guitarist only played chords?
You might guess I'm bad at playing melodies. Chords = good.

A lot of Bob Dylan's early stuff. Billy Bragg too. In fact, a lot of folk musicians use primarily chords.

I meant rock, which usually doesn't include acoustic. Sorry.

I play guitar. Im left-handed so it makes finding a decent instrument a pain in the ass, but alas I have an american made Fender Highway one Strat (daphne blue). I have a 20 watt Hughes and Kettner tube amp that I play through and Im pretty good. I'm playing a decent amount of classical right now, but I love to play the blues.

I play classical piano, mostly Shostakovich, who I am madly in love with. I also sing classical and opera. I'm a mezzo soprano, and quite good if I do say so myself :)
I've done a bunch of shows and things. I love performing.

Well, I started out in 4th grade through 8th grade playing trumpet but quit unfortunatly. Then I bought a guitar around my freshman year, been tryin to practice lately but still not very good at it. I'm more into production anyways. I got a Roland Sp-404, a Korg Mini-synth, and a Denon s1000 for sampling which just broke down on me for no reason! Hoping to buy Pro-tools or maybe Reason because thats all I really need now.

Started playing guitar in year 7, where my dad strung his old acoustic upside down. Still have that on now.
Also have a red Epi Les Paul (my absolute pride) and a black Ibanez GIO or summat.
Yamaha practise amp. Too quiet, not enough sludge.
A dist. pedal that I haven't tried out.
A tip: don't use Tanglewood strings on a les. It sounds all wrong. Usually get D'addarios.
I still suck as bad as I did when I was 11.

Used to play bass clarinet, which I'd like to pick up again and use in an experimental/rock way. Also I'm learning harmonica.

I didn't mean this to turn into a thread of basically comparing musical penis sizes, I was expecting some actual discussion on different techniques etc

I play a black & white Aria STG, it's a cheaper imitation of a Fender Strat. I've also got an Ariana acoustic on long-term lease. I've been playing for six months and I'm getting better. I'm trying to master the opening of "Johnny Be Good" right now; it's harder than it seems.

In 5th grade I tried playing the sax, and I quickly lost interest in it
But when I picked up the flute in 8th grade, I loved it kuz I was really feeling the flute
Hopefully, I'll be able to buy myself a flute and start studying music again after I graduate college

I'll try not to compare musical pennis sizes (as mentioned before) so does anyone else play piano/keyboard or saxophone and whats your favourite genre, modes, idols, instrument, brand etc.
My keyboard is a nord electro 2 which has some really exceptional old school rhodes, wurlitzer clav's and a great B3 organ with digital drawbars. Its a mother of a keyboard. Therefore favourite brand is nord, but i really like rolands too
I love the three modern piano greats keith jarret, chik corea and herbie hancock all so techniqually brilliant plus very creative. There my idols
My alto saxophone is a yamaha yas 275 and i use a russeou 5R mouthpiece, it has a really warm jazz sound, and i play alot of parker, and bebop with some trad stuff and a bit of baroque. Favourite brand would have to be selmer or an inderbinnen, can't beet Eurpean quality
Whats are peoples favorite modes, mines dorian, great for improvising whether it be rock, jazz or fusion

I play acoustic and electric guitar. I own an old Marlin (not Martin!) acoustic and a Tanglewood electric, both given to me by my dad. On top of that I have bought a Yamaha Pacifica 112 (amazing guitar, especially for the price) and, of course, a Fender Stratocaster.
I'm also sort of teaching myself keyboards/synthesiser for my band.
