I usually associate crust with:
-sort of punk music
-incomprehensible screaming
-a crowd that won't move
-the songs stop all of a sudden, so it's impossible to mosh
-generally unknow bands performing before the bands everyone wants to see

k personaly crust isnt that bad of a genre its an aquirred(sp?) taste kinda like grindcore, and the whole point of it isnt to sound good its to play fun shows with lotsa people who get into it, and to basicaly yell about politics will out of tune guitars and a drum kit play in the back
