I need recommendations on good books I could just go pick up at a book store to learn about the following:

-The USSR Pre-stalin, how things were working, the conditions for people.
-Trotsky, what he did, and what he believed in
-General socialist/communist ideology
-Anything else good that will help me broaden what I know in regards to socialism/communism/anarchism and the theories behind them.
