god and country

I'm just now being able to separate God from the corruption of religion. I still question the existence and things like that, but i'm startin to think it's not evil. I'm not having the same success with separating the American gov't and America. I wonder whether I should even bother cause like they said in 'the Matrix' until the people are woken up they are just as dangerous as the agents. Recent events are not helping either. Everytime I see that flag on someones car I think of how that flag represents 'years of oppresion against people of color worldwide, exploitation of workers in this country and this includes white people as some people don't realize for the "freedom and democracy" of the upper classes, which includes some black people too.'

Basically on paper America was a great idea. freedom and justice for all, everybody equal, right to pursuit of happiness, right to vote for the person of ones choosing (most people voted for Gore) and if the gov't becomes repressive the right to replace it with a new one. Union people trying to get some rights got their heads beat in, black people tryin to get some rights got their heads beats in. people say communism is nothin but utopia, well so is America. is their anyone who wants to tell me why i should give a damn that that plane thing happened. don't say cause people died cause i have completely different views on death. i think i'm straying off what i was tryin to say so

Bottom line: what separates America (people, culture, history, etc. etc. etc.) from the American gov't?

The problem with religion is that it's an avenue for people to not take responsibility for their life here and now. It also is elitist and creates a very large division in society, the only good to come from religion is to the benefit of capitalists.
I believe you're here to live right here right now not contemplate the eternal or worship the pope.Do your best to help your fellow men and if god is real you'll know when you die.
The people of the US have to take responsibility for their government and stop buying all the shit they get fed,the seperation between the people and the government?It's an illusion along with 2 party democracy.

interest points mjm, i agree there is no difference between most parties, its a shame. I mean why vote? As for religion, in some degrees it is a tool by the government for people to forget about their problems and not to interpret their present situation.. Instead theyll turn to god. Remember Marx argued this over 100 years ago, and now lately church has been very involved in social movements. In el salvador church groups werevery marxist actually and led socialist groups. but now what i thinkin some cases does is gets people out of the political circle and into religion. it can be interpreted in many ways, im not reliigious at all so i think its a bad thing but i guess one can argue from both sides.

i'm aware that democrats and republicans are the same, i'm just pointing out how the majority voted for one person but the minority won. It's a manifestation of the truth. MINORITY RULES. the few dictate the lives of the many.

that's why I don't condone our so called current "democracy"......it's like in switzerland..we may have the right to call for a referendum..may vote 6 times a year....but the reality is that less than 40% of the citizen cast their votes....which means that a small minority of the people decide for the rest..here's a little operation....switzerland has 7million people...20% are foreigners, 20% are under the legal age to vote..which leaves...not much...usually...25% of the citizen vote for leftist parties....how many capitalists do we have here? lol....I just love our swiss democracy, run by the few....

chux, im impressed you seem to be leading down a path of phenomenons. what seperates america from government can be considered like what seperates church from state. i say "word" not money but "word" i know im sounding "gay" but its part of my theory that im still working on so i cant go into great detail at this time because it's not all together. (plus im at work!) (man, i need a research position, im kinda doing tax research right now in all 50 states of the u.s.)

no political system works. democracy does not work either, but in switzerland it is at least better than else where.
but if ppl dont vote, even if they could, it is not my problem. i dont think we have to make the ppl voting.
