Need Advice

I've been arguing with some friend about what Anarchy is mean what it stand for. He said that anarchy is just a political ideologies that only based on the thought of some ignorant group of people that always doing some violence in every action, and anarchist ideologies it's just like a selfish ideologies.

and i said, hell no man you were wrong! i want to know why did most of people just like my friend (which is liberal democrate) think that Anarchy is always similar and always have connection to a violent action?

has he never heard of Pierre Proudhon? does he not know of mutual anarchy? He is thinking only one way, and isn't considering the alternative: anarchy can be the product of peace.

Well anarchism has allways had a bad reputation, anarchists being called terrorists or hooligans. That's simply because violent direct action is the most spectacular part of anarchist action, it makes for good images on the news, so those are the images you're most likely to see concerning anarchists.
Also the common use of the word 'anarchy' to describe chaos contributes to a bad image of anarchy.
