Immigrant quota for Russia retail (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/6261897.stm)
Tough new laws limiting job opportunities for immigrants have been introduced in Russia.
The number of non-Russians working in the retail trade is now being limited to 40%, but by the end of the year that number is supposed to be zero.
Russian police are raiding the country's markets on a daily basis, enforcing quotas on the number of foreigners working in the retail trade.
The new law was proposed after race riots in northern Russia last summer.
President Vladimir Putin spoke of the need to defend the interests of what he called the native population.
So Putin is finally publicly showing his Fascist colors.
I tell you it's depressing seeing the direction Russia is going.

Due to the poor economy, more and more Russians are supporting the "Russia for Russians" slogan (61% as opposed to 31% a few years ago). With these types of statements, Putin is giving gov. sanctions for such ethnic hatred and it's quite possible that there will be more state-driven campaigns against foreigners and their businesses in the future.

The police over there are the worst you'll ever find. They'll beat you up if you piss them off and trust me, no-one will help you.
This is typical of Putin. It's also sad that the CPRU supports (I think it does) this sort of action.

Exactly, with the way things are going i don't think an ethnic cleansing or outright genocide is outside possibility.

Yeah, this in addition to the fact that they pretty much allow fascist groups to organise and beat up and kill foreigners and leftwing activists.
There was a documentary where a black student said the cops were worse then the skinheads, because you could fight back against the skinheads.
