Winner of the 2006 Palme d'Or, if that means anthything. A well made film about the Irish War of Independence with some rousing illustrations of the radical politics of the time.

I liked the film. It is powerful and I enjoy how the political relations are shown and develop and how they interwine with the social relations.

Some controversy- The Times called it... "poisonously anti-British corruption of the history of the war of Irish independence"

I liked the film as well, although I think Loach's Land and Freedom is better, but that's partially because I like the subject matter more.

I've watched online and had a problem with the accent, so i'll try to get it with subtitles :P but as a whole it was great that you can feel its power.

I watched this film not too long ago and thought it was a very powerful and compelling film about the Irish struggle for independence. It's a shame that it wasn't released in US theaters.

I thought it was very good. I particularly liked how it emphasized the Socialism as well as the Nationalism inherent in the struggle at that time. The rejection of the State, the Church and Buisness came across strongly and sympathetically.
