As an israeli citizen (and please do not jump to conclusions just because I am one) who identifies himself with the extreme left flanks of politics, I have to say the south-American-Iranian pact is quite concerning.

How can a symbol of national definiton under socialism such as Chavez team up with a self-proclaimed saviour of the world under Islamic Sharya such as Ahmedinjad?

This, only sue to mutual causes regarding oil and Anti-capitalism...

Chavez says he is not antisemic, yet cooprates with a modern day Goubels, who continues to suggest that the holocaust never even took place!

Leave asid what goes on in the occupied territories and really tell me, how can a leftist essage of community, fraternity and Equality be, when one nation seeks to destroy another nation's very basis to existance? Plus, it gets recognized for its common interset with who, on any other circumstance, I myslef whould admire as a leader of the left..

the pact was more about venezuela helping iran if america attack iran.
it's nothing but hugo trying to piss off the USA again.

Chavez does not ally with Iran on ideological grounds, but as BM said, for self-defense in case of a very possible US attack. It is the right and responsibility for nations like these who are victims of imperialism to arm and defend themselves.
